BRIEF User ID: 31033836 United States 12/29/2012 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's awesome! The .22 LR is my all time favorite round. I bought each of my boys their very first rifle, a .22 LR bolt action, stainless steel 10/22 with a scope. Deadly and accurate and at two cents a round, it's by far the most efficient firearm there is. 10/22's aren't bolt action... eta: or do you mean that you bought one of each? The first rifle I bought myself as a kid was a stainless Ruger 10/22, I bought them a Savage stainless bolt action Lr .22 with a 10 rnd magazine. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |
Munsoned User ID: 27143553 United States 12/29/2012 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | watched a video on utube last night. store in Delaware Ohio got in some PMC Bronze .223, 1000 rounds for $550!!!!!!!!!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28870983 last 1000 rds I bought was $43/100 or .43/rnd, that was just a few weeks ago...your .55/rnd is not all that bad of a deal if there is no shipping charges. they don't ship so add tax to that price and it's close to $600. The city might have been Dover, couldn't quite hear it. I had only went in to buy some tannerite for that day and saw a bin full of 100 rnd bags of .223, people were snatching them up like mad...I'm stocked up, but only buy what I need for a day at the range, no dipping into the reserves :) Yup that's what I do no dipping into the stash. The cost of range ammo has gone way up though. Anonymous Coward User ID: 30572433 United States 12/29/2012 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All kinds of ammo at inflated prices on gunbroker.com. I was looking at a Sig Sauer M400 back in October and the going price was around $1000. There are several on gunbroker for over $2000 now. Same with the ammo. 1000 rounds of .223 could be had for under $300. Now the price is around $800. Capitalism at it's finest. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 21687950 United States 12/29/2012 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The two Walmart stores I went in this morning were running pretty low. I'm not surprised, I suppose. People are panic buying and its creating an artificial shortage. Once this blows over in a couple of months, and I think its going to, demand should fall off and supply should return to normal. |
me too User ID: 25007716 United States 12/29/2012 12:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey, what's the deal with primers having an expiration date? There was a thread a few days ago about primers going bad in 6months. Quoting: me too 25007716 So all you reloaders need to look into it. I wish I was prepared like you people. I got nothing and when whatever happens happens, I'll still have nothing. Sucks to be me. Primers don't have an expiration date. Stored properly, they will last several lifetimes. Like tobacco, think humidor. Dry is good. You all misunderstand. I saw a thread a while ago that said they INVENTED a primer that goes bad in 6 months. Think about what this means. It could render all ammo useless in 6 months. So, if they wanted to they could make all ammo manufacturers use this type primer and stop production 6 months later all that ammo is bad. Keep all your old stuff safe boys. I'll try to search for the thread or a link. |

Smart man brief I have 4 marlin model 60"s and 6--12gauge semiautos My youngest, 12 now, didn't want the rifle...he had little interest in it even though he goes shooting with us now and then, so I bought it anyway as family heirloom he can give to his children...but let me tell you, that kid can hit anything he aims at with open sight or scope, at any distance! I think video games do help...when the kid is raised properly. Funny thing, I had a friend say the same thing about the video games ... lol One Tequila! Two Tequila! Three Tequila, ...... Floor! |

Great to see something increase in value when so much has been done without to put away for a rainy day. One fellow in Michigan spent his fortune/retirement in the 90's on ammo. He's been living quite well for the last 10 years selling to the Militia for less than market price. You can educate the ignorant, but you can't fix stupid! |

Quoting: EVIL_BEAN_KID i told him he was too late Same thing with a guy at work. He's been thinking about getting an AR, but was hedging. This was December 19th. I told him - almost an exact quote - "Leave work early today and go to ____ gun store and buy it. Buy any ammo you can find for it. Do it TODAY." Almost immediately after I'd finished speaking, the know-it-all's chimed in about how I was over-reacting and how silly that was, there will be plenty, don't worry, etc. etc. The guy didn't do it. Hey, you can lead a horse to water. Can't make 'em drink. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31087736 yep, once the war gets cooking all kinds of weapons will be smuggled in... correct Ben Franklin did the same thing in 1776. He signed an illegal arms deal with France to get 7,000 muskets pass the British blockades. These were the muskets that crossed the Delaware with Washington and was Washington's first victory of the war. beotches gonna have guns whether they make them illegal or not. our 2nd Amendment is non-negotiable.
