The worst bill is probably designed to give room for a "compromise" in the middle, along the lines our evil governor Cuomo has proposed: you can keep your guns but register them. Problem - reaction - solution.

This won't go so easily, most of NY state by area (though less than half the population) is rural, white Republican territory.

Gun manufacturers have for many years made, marketed and sold to civilians semi-automatic versions of military assault weapons designed with features specifically intended to increase lethality for military applications. As a result, approximately 2,000,000 assault weapons are currently in circulation in the United States. These weapons have been the weapon of choice in the most notorious mass shootings of innocent civilians in the United States, including the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School (TEC-DC9 assault pistol and Hi-Point Carbine) and the 2002 Washington, D.C.-area sniper shootings (Bushmaster XM15 assault rifle). According to FBI data, between 1998 and 2001, one in five law enforcement officers slain in the line of duty was killed with an assault weapon. In 2003, New York lost two of its finest when undercover officers in the elite Firearms Investigation Unit of the NYPD Organized Crime Control Bureau were brutally murdered while attempting to purchase an illegal TEC-9 semi-automatic assault weapon. Too much rock the east coast makes for poor farmland because of the massive amount of rock it would be interesting to note where they found the money for such an undertaking. "Quick and accurate spray firing"? "Spraying", by its very definition, is NOT accurate, and you can't really "spray" with a semi. "Simply point and spray a wide area with a hail of bullets?" Really? I can't do that with my AR-15, I guess I didn't look close enough at the selector switch. It must read thusly: 1.) "Safe" 2.) "Semi" 3.)"Accurate, Rapid Hail of Bullets for Cutting Down Masses of Humanity"

These people do not know what they're talking about. At all. They just add a bunch of scary words like "assault" as many times as they can shove 'em into a sentence and make up the rest.

The capabilities of these "semi-automatic assault weapons" as they're called are apparently remarkable. According to these losers, they have capabilities that not even fully automatic, REAL assault weapons have. And that's not including their apparent ability to turn any stable, law-abiding citizens who gets their hand on one into a murderous, blood-thirsty mass-murderer as soon as they touch it like guns are some ancient, cursed sword of B-grade fantasy novels.

I really hate politicians. These people are experts in nothing at all, yet they have the final say in how EVERYTHING is handled from health care, economics, gun rights...Shit they know absolutely nothing about.

I've lived in various parts of the country, and I think the people here in the northeast have at least as much starch as those elsewhere, maybe more. We don't just resent the politicians for their power, we disrespect them for their inferiority!

And so, the anti-gun push (as well as the devastation from Sandy) is focused on us at this time.

That's according to a report released Tuesday by the Empire Center for New York State Policy, which found a net 7.3 million residents left the state since 1960. The number one reason for the mass exodus is money, and it comes in many forms. Higher incomes in other places combined with lower taxes are making people move from the “Big Apple”.

The report finds that most of the people are heading to Florida, where the tax burden is considerably less.

The Empire State was ranked highest for tax burden every year from 1977 until 2006, except in 1984 when it was ranked second.

Yeah, oh well if this country had a chance just the mention of this would have triggered a war. I'd fight in two seconds flat. But I can't fight alone I've got small kids now. I will just turn them over to the authorities, if we end up like Germany so be it. No one can say that people weren't warned. I've lived almost 40 years I have no regrets to go out early.

Connecticut has more or less caught up to us on income taxes. Twenty years ago CT had no income tax at all, if I recall correctly.

We're in a race to the bottom with CT to see which one can have more stupid government and pander more to the least desirable elements of society.
