So I see him wearing these boots in a resturant (informal place, where this type of footwear would go unoticed). And I notice the boots have a weird shine to them. Not so much of shine as a sheen. So I ask him "what's on your boots? Shoe polish?" and he replies, "No--Bear Grease". With that, he walks away and goes outside. How odd? I didn't know bears were even the least bit greasy, and where would one get the grease from a bear anyway. It's not like they sell it at WalMart or SafeCo. So, anyway, the guy is like a real high up military Marxman, sharpshooter guy--retired. |

The strangers as objects of suspicion The tolerant one the quick to jump to conclusions one the fistfight the strangers must be up to no good because... the pulling of the gun the build up for mob action the mob action ending in burning the house And the absurd ending, even more absurd than the show itself How anyone can confuse this for anything even remotely approaching reality in our present or any circumstances is sad. There is some suggestion about registering and databases, and even if they came to be, do you actually think they will be able to enforce it across the board? There will NOT be total disarmament in this country during any of your lives, perhaps not ever. The hysteria is EXACTLY what they are gauging. Just like in the TZ episode - it is so parallel it is astounding. |

Steve yanks it from Don's hands, then, later on, Charlie steals it from Steve before shooting Pete. if Don had maintained control of his weapon, and not allowed it to be taken from him by Steve, the shooting may not have happened at all. the message? don't allow anyone, including self-proclaimed authority figures, to take your weapon or it may fall into the wrong hands and be used for nefarious purposes.
