Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31557420 You understand why in third world countries there is heavy gun proliferation? Not because of their constitution and LEGAL arms market. But because the state does not have the resources to implement law and order. Keep living in fantasy land... it won't be the military. it will be law-enforcement and FEMA. Same point applies. LEO pensions would be non-existent and budget constraints would make already understaffed agencies even more understaffed. They wouldn't even have the ability to confiscate firearms now, let alone if their budgets are cut by half. The best way to get people to then term over firearms would be to offer starving people food and money to turn them over, like they do now. But what will happen is private buyers will go to these events and buy them. They will have to be banned. And most states wouldn't ban them. Keep living in fantasy land. Because we all know how well the United States military is confiscating firearms in Afghanistan, a country 1/10th the population and size of the United States. |

What 'they' aren't prepared for is the response they'll be receiving if/when they try to come to this town to take them. I hope every neighborhood has organized and planned in similar fashion. |

I don't know what more to say to you then, because in America gun ownership IS a right, which is why they will not take them. Even at the height of the hysteria over sandy hook, the boldest anyone got was to suggest a semi auto ban, and now that isn't even happening. Anonymous Coward User ID: 33807980 United States 02/06/2013 01:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | “When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms. Quoting: Mordier L'eft And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?” This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win. Nice fantasy. It’s not happening. If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told. The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public. [link to www.secretsofthefed.com] It depends upon the State you live in. In some States they will be met at the Border by thousands of armed citizens. It they make it 20 miles past the borders, they would be lucky! Oh, and the greeting committee will contain National Guard, Military Reservists, Veterans and Militia units, armed with "heavy" weapons. |

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation....
