I really don't want to be the one to burst your happy bubble, that's why I said "don't ask me." The answer isn't a happy one. The important thing is that the star is now a special thing between you and your wife.

Crux RA 12h 29m 11s D -60` 53`

I'll see what I can do after this asteroid pass today. Did they give you any other info about the star? Those coordinates are a bit... imprecise the way they're written. 12h 29m 11s is ok, though I'm a bit surprised they didn't go down to tenth of an arcsecond in RA. -60d 53' is just silly though - I assume they mean -60d 53' 00" otherwise there are thousands of stars it could be.

i shoulda been more precise i guess... its D -60(little dot top right of the 0 (i was guessing it was a degree sign?) and 53'

No, I was hoping there was another pair of numbers like 00 with a " after it (00") at the end of -60d 53'

And yeah, the names are not at all official in any astronomical sense, but I didn't want to say anything on valentine's day lol

you know the star really doesnt get the name you bought at the registry,,, If say they found life on a planet around that star it would not be names Jennifer Houston or whatever her name is ,,, its only named in the registry which in reality means nothing ,, nice thought though,, i did the same thing 25 years ago,,
