Its easier for people to be grateful when they have a good life. But those who have shitty lives cant be grateful.

So this "attitude of gratitude" fluff, is to make soccer moms and religi-tards feel good, and has no basis in accepting reality for what it is.

I dare you to preach the attitude of gratitude to someone who is screaming of pain from cancer, or someone who lost their child, or someone who is starving to death.

I am grateful to not have been probed inappropriately by aliens.

I am grateful that at quiet times in my life I have been able to see the masterpieces created by the hand of God... the perfect symmetry and touchability of a single violet plant leaf. Or the majestic fragility of a single hummingbird out in the middle of winter looking to see if my feeder has any nectar.

I would agree with you... if we all lived in the same reality. I don't believe that we do however. Our realities may appear to overlap one another or even be the same, but no two realities are exactly alike. Each consciousness is it's own reality... or rather, what is "real" to you, is how you CHOOSE to perceive your unique conscious experience. Your reality is only as real as how you choose to experience it. I choose to live in a state of Gratitude. That is what I prefer. It really works for me. Why don't you try it out for a bit?

I understand where your heart is coming from in your last comment, but you miss the point... it's not about me telling someone else to be grateful in their own experience. The only person that can change how you experience life is YOU. I am using this thread to remind myself of the myriad of different things that I am grateful for. If this inspires someone else reading to also express their own attitude of gratitude, whenever they can, for whatever they can, this makes me happy. I am also happy to read about the gratitude that other readers of this post share with me. That inspires me. We are all cruising the same general wave of gratitude, and the shared realities that this idea creates, in a sense. It's a good ride, come on!
