By the way the concept of "bullying" is tipically american, so is the term "LOSER'. Oh I know - I went to an American school as a child to be appalled to discover that the infamous stereotypes of the cheerleader and the team captain were real, not just some ridiculous fiction we saw in the movies. |

So they throw the ball to him out of pity, in the last moments of the game and that´s supposed to make him feel good? The coach and player taking interviews sucking up the role of being a "hero", making quotes that would be too cheesy even for a pg-13 kids sports hero movie. Give me a break, if you want to treat people how they want to be treated, you wouldnt have treated a mentally challenged person like a retard, and probably mostly just to bring attention to your "heroicness" to boot. Luckily the kid was probably mentally challenged enough to not realize how condescending these douchebags were, but the other kid J-mac with just high functioning autism in the other story just like this, im sure was well aware of that fact. The people that think this was a "feel-good" story make me wanna hurl. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1563062 United States 02/26/2013 11:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Give the guy the ball until he makes it them scream your heads off..... How does this help anything in my opinion all it is doing is inflating his ego nothing about this has anything to do with love people are just getting all emotional because he is mentally challenged and feel they need to lift his spirits by going crazy for him making a basketball shot. It's ironic if you think about it he shouldn't be playing basketball obviously but because they need to be fair and treat him like everyone else they have to let him play but then they overreact when he makes a shot treating him much differently then everyone else. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1548981 Australia 02/27/2013 12:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You mean to tell me that the Game is not important? The Coach after screaming at his players now thinks...realizes that the Game is not Important. That was the only thing in all of that... that made me happy. The game is not important. Now we have to tell that kid that too. |

He represented that struggle to overcome the obstacles, that is inside all of us. Teaches us to love and forgive ourselves, and provides the room needed to do the same for others. Yes, after something like that, there is afterglow... and sometimes it can last a lifetime. Very cool |
