Quoting: Orionusis Well you are forgetting one thing. In the previous years, the son wasn't in power... the father was. Now the son is, and the son is, I'm guessing, even more irrational and brainwashed than the father. I mean come on, this guy is fucking 28 years old, raised in a country that has the belief that he is some sort of demi-god. That age, that immature mind, and that military might is a recipe for destruction. So this isn't like every other time. They didn't have 28 year old at the wheel the 'other times'. Exactly!! ^ Real truth is self evident... |

Anyway, they are covering tons of other stories like actress Valerie Harper's cancer, snow in the midwest (during late winter) and lotto tickets... I guess... This is odd. They just had small blip on Fox news, but talking more about the US/SK joint exercise, not the Armistice. Im guessing all the smart people to analyze it havent been brought it for interviews yet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17616880 NK getting its ass whooped in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... Last time they invaded SK they took 95% of the south very quickly. The US almost used nuclear weapons then, this time NK has them. The US, S Korea, UK, Australia and others were effectively fighting the NK's Chinese and Russians. China and Russia may sit this one out, but that doesn't mean it wont be ugly for SK. |

The ONLY way to stop NK is for US to use nukes, which if they do, they risk open war with China. |

North Korea has officially ended the armistice agreement that ended the korean war How would you know that? It doesn't say that in the comments or in the description. And oh, look at this, it was filmed on a fucking cruise ship: [link to www.youtube.com] Now where was this cruse ship? Well judging by the ladies walking around with bare arms, it sure doesn't look like Canada. Oh, but we can KNOW where that cruise ship was headed because this video was uploaded the same day: [link to www.youtube.com] Cozumel. So they were somewhere in the Caribbean. Now judging by the many uploads that day, chances are they uploaded them after getting home from their cruise, not the same day they filmed them. Therefore we have to go based on the phase of the moon and the month it was uploaded to find the date it was filmed. I would eyeball that to be about 40% illuminated, though because it's so bright it's hard to say which features are illuminated and therefore whether it's waxing or waning. So let's find more detailed info on where and when this cruise occurred, shall we? [link to www.youtube.com] " Stephanie MacDonald 3 years ago It was the Norwegian Jewel. Charter Cruise by Sixthman. Ships and Dip V (Barenaked Ladies)" Much better. A quick search for that turns up this: [link to boards.cruisecritic.com] "The Norwegian Jewel will host Barenaked Ladies annual Ships and Dip cruise February 1-6, 2009." There we go! According to my spreadsheet, the moon was 40% full at 1:20 UT on February 2nd, 2009 which would be at 8:20 at night on February 1st by Florida time. From this video we can see they departed from Miami on February 1st: [link to www.youtube.com] We can see that February 2nd was a "day at sea" between Miami and Cozumel: [link to www.suebeedesigns.com] Makes perfect sense; days spent at sea typically involve parties on the deck at night, and it was their first night out at sea on February 1st. They probably weren't too far from Miami at that point, I'm going to guess somewhere near the Keys, 24.5N 81W. According to my spreadsheet ( Thread: Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon ) the moon was highly tilted from those coordinates all night, reaching 90 degrees tilt exactly at 11:03pm eastern time. Even as early as 9pm it was 82 degrees tilted from vertical, by 10pm it was nearly 86 degrees tilted, and again at 11:03 it peaked at 90 degrees tilt. So yes, this video is confirmed by calculations showing where the moon SHOULD be and how tilted it SHOULD look relative to the horizon. Damn I'm good. |

North Korea has officially ended the armistice agreement that ended the korean war You're absolutely right. But what people are failing to realize here is the very real fact that we're NOT dealing with lil Kim's father anymore. We're dealing with a post adolescent with a TON of very powerful toys at his disposal to "play" with and "toy soldiers" waiting to do his bidding. Nah, I don't really believe he has any real power - he's a puppet, like Barack Obama and most other national "leaders". He will be taking orders from elsewhere, like those before him. |

North Korea has officially ended the armistice agreement that ended the korean war North Korea had previously threatened to formally scrap the Armistice several times before but they haven't totally nullified it as they have today. As of right now, there is no safeguard whatsoever to prevent war on the Korean peninsula. It's June 1950 and the go-order is about to be given for a second time. |

The playing fields in regards to air support and the ability of armor were much more level in those days. The US has a huge aerial, armor and naval advantage, but lacks the numbers of troops. It would probably require the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Canada etc to supply maybe an additional 100,000-250,000 troops in addition to maybe 4 times that of SK troops. The US sent close to half a million last time. If NK shells the shit out of SK and then pushes south with half a million - a million troops its going to be fucking insane. I'm not convinced Seoul would hold, they would have to retreat and call in air strikes on positions. I think the Chinese sent 1,500,000 troops last time. The korean war was fucking UGLY and was not minor, it seriously could have blown up into WW3 then. |
