Here's an image of the moon taken last night in Michigan: Quoting: Dr. Astro [link to www.flickr.com] It's been geotagged right to the exact pier it was taken from and the EXIF data shows you when it was taken. [link to www.flickr.com] In this image it was tilted about 14.53 degrees from horizontal, or about 75.47 degrees from vertical. [link to img90.imageshack.us] Now according to my calculations ( Thread: Calculating the Position and Orientation of the Moon ) it should have been tilted about 75.35 degrees from vertical at that location at that time, well within the margin of error given the resolution of the image. So no, there's nothing wrong with the tilt of the moon, that's how it should have looked. |
