The danger of a "cashless society" should be obvious to you by now if you've been paying attention to Cyprus

Just imagine if there was no cash in Cyprus. Everybody just walking around with little plastic swipe cards. The government could just bust the people any time they want. Take half your money or all your money, then do it again next week. They could starve you as an individual, or the entire population into submission in just a couple of weeks.

Any time you don't like the new law they just passed and you get the idea you want to protest, well, they just starve you a few days until you're begging for enough of your own fucking money to buy a loaf of bread.

Just imagine how popular you would be if the government froze the accounts of everyone in the country until your little protest out front of the capitol building ceased. They wouldn't need the cops to go in dressed in riot gear to bust your heads, your fellow citizens would do it for them. And they would do it more brutally and completely than any low IQ psycho fucking pig they could hire for the job.

It's true that a cashless society would reduce street crime, drug dealing, prostitution and a whole host of social ills. But if you give up your cash, they have you nailed to the wall then, literally at their mercy.
