Texas Biolab Loses Deadly Guanarito Virus

Now I'm going to try to convince you that human populations must be reduced. Paul Ehrlich, in the 1960s, wrote a nice little book, "The Population Bomb," calling attention to this. Nobody paid much attention to Ehrlich (1968). Even today, I hear people saying, "Oh, I've heard you doomsday ecologists before. We've still got water, there's no problem." They're so short-sighted.

TORONTO – One of five vials containing a deadly Venezuelan virus has gone missing from a University of Texas medical lab, the school said in a statement Monday.

The school’s president issued a “global message” to university staff about the “unaccounted for” material.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the virus akin to ebola. It can lead to bleeding under the skin, in internal organs or from body orifices like the mouth, eyes or ears, reports warned.

The vial was stored in a Biosafety Level 4 laboratory, the Huffington Post reported.

That level of security is saved for “dangerous and exotic agents that pose a high individual risk of aerosol-transmitted laboratory infections,” the Center for Disease Control says.

UTEP ordered a campus-wide evacuation at about 2 p.m. MDT Tuesday and canceled evening classes. Students were seen hurrying away from buildings after getting a text message about a bomb threat.

UTEP Police Chief Cliff Walsh said police got a call that the campus had received a threat. He declined to explain what the threat was or say if police had any suspects, citing a pending investigation.

this is scary. Wonder how deeply the staff get investigated??

Like if that professr does work there and has made those statments ,will his background be looked into. Or is he a patsy? if it was well known he made those remarks, then someone else could have stolen it, assuming he would be blamed.
