0311INFANTRYSIR User ID: 29546719 United States 04/05/2013 09:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The day that you have evade bullets and actually DO something that saves your own life (not to mention your family/brother/others) life is that very [unfortunate] day that you understand what life means. Until then; I am so sorry but it's all movies. Sorry - when you remember this later (hopefully not) I am still your brother. LO~UP. I agree with you here LOCUTUS, that is a feeling that you never forget. The first time for me I watched a buddy piss himself. I don't know why, but I am lucky, it pisses me off and I am able to keep my focus and fight. But some simply shit themselves. Others freeze. Most American's have never seen anything resembling real combat. The Veterans and current Military only account for approximately 8-9% of American's. So the Majority have no Idea, that is why so many people are ok with Gun-Grabs. They have no concept that freedom is not free, not in the true sense. The know it is not "theoretically" free but they think it will always be there for them. When in reality, freedom is at stake nearly every day in one shape or form. Gun legislation is the most serious threat to America's "liberty" that we have ever known. And those who believe that they are doing it to save the "children" are so brainwashed it is sick. They are doing it because the want to take away our liberty. Combat, is not pretty, that is why the media refuses to show it. The show it in movies, and they make them rated R so that kids can't see them. But the kids are the ones doing the fighting. Take a 17 year old who graduates early and has his parents sign on the line for him. Before his 18th birthday, he could be a KIA. People, the masses, do not want to know or see this shit. As long as it does not affect them, they are cool with it. The way Jack Nicholsen was portrayed in a few good men may have been bad, but what his character said was dead on. Semper Fi Devil Dogs!! "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote" ~ Benjamin Franklin. |

Kybeam User ID: 36969258 United States 04/05/2013 10:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The North Koreans have a long planned response in the form of conventional arms they will let loose on Seoul within minutes of a preemptive strike. That is what makes dealing with Kim so serious. In order to stop him the US and South Koreans have to accept thousands if not millions of deaths. A snowball no one wants to start. I know that this is obvious to everyone familiar with the set-up. The known horror is practically beyond imagination, unfortunate I think there is more to it than we know in this awful equation. The sum will be an outcome that cannot be considered a win by anyone. Pray, to your god, lack of, or fully muffin this does not happen. |

Quoting: No More Lies Based on information received from our military and intelligence sources, military action against North Korean missile launch locations might be hours away. According to our sources, key congressional leaders Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are the only actual leaders in Congress. Just FYI. |

Quoting: No More Lies Based on information received from our military and intelligence sources, military action against North Korean missile launch locations might be hours away. According to our sources, key congressional leaders have been advised to stay close to Washington this weekend in anticipation of a meeting in the Oval Office. Such a meeting implies that they would be advised of military action as the effort is underway. We like imminent !! But often that's the same thing like the GLP effect... |
CowgirlK User ID: 34838675 United States 04/06/2013 12:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with the OP. Why? After all the NK threats and sabre rattling, Kim Jong must do something or he will "lose face" with his people. To lose face is a BIG deal, especially in Asian Cultures. Here is a little primer on the subject: Much has been written about the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. One perspective put forth by a leading researcher on face theories, Stella Ting-Toomey, is that the negotiation came down to how both sides could retreat to more peaceful positions without losing face, or causing loss of face for each other. From the correspondence between the two leaders (Kennedy and Khrushchev),[1] it is apparent that they were trying to figure out how they could both retain personal and national honor in relation to each other and to the international arena. Kennedy, in his memoirs, wrote about the seven lessons he learned during the crisis, number six being, "Don't humiliate your opponent," which is, of course, a central face issue. And, as Ting-Toomey put it, "By understanding the face-honoring process intuitively, intellectually, and diplomatically, the two statesmen learned to honor and give face mutually in the eyes of their salient referents and in the arena of international diplomacy." Anonymous Coward User ID: 3579277 United Kingdom 04/06/2013 01:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Doesn't this info depend on this Larry Hagman having a historical record of being right in his past statements, or at least having a reasonably high percentage of being correct in what he's said about events in the past? What if he doesn't have that record? Do any of you lot in North America know if this bloke is reliable? If he's not reliable, then all this is guff. The Chinese see the North Koreans as their blood brothers - if the US made a pre-emptive strike against the NK, then you would find the Chinese would become very antagonistic towards the US. It would change the world dichotomy so much. If I were the Americans I'd wait to take the hit. |
