It's a national holiday in 70% of the countries. In all of the countries members of the BRICS, today is a national holiday: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. In all of the 5 countries, today is a public holiday. In North Korea, it's a public holiday too. As well as in Germany and France, as mentioned already... |

Well, in fact there is a reason: anniversary of the Bavarian Illuminati |

In October 1884, a convention held by the Federation of Organized Trades and Labor Unions unanimously set May 1, 1886, as the date by which the eight-hour work day would become standard.[16] As the chosen date approached, U.S. labor unions prepared for a general strike in support of the eight-hour day.[17] On Saturday, May 1, rallies were held throughout the United States. Estimates of the number of striking workers across the U.S. range from 300,000[18] to half a million.[19] In New York City the number of demonstrators was estimated at 10,000[20] and in Detroit at 11,000.[21] In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, some 10,000 workers turned out.[21] In Chicago, the movement's center, an estimated 30,000-to-40,000 workers had gone on strike[18] and there were perhaps twice as many people out on the streets participating in various demonstrations and marches,[22][23] as, for example, a march by 10,000 men employed in the Chicago lumber yards.[19] Though participants in these outdoor events added up to 80,000, it is unclear if there was ever a single, massive march of that number down Michigan Avenue led by anarchist Albert Parsons, founder of the International Working People's Association [IWPA] and his wife Lucy and their children.[18][24] I also like your theory, but this is a fact. In May 1 there was a big convention, because of that the Labor day is 1st May. Perhaps all is an Illuminati setup |

The bombs in Chicago happened on May 4th So, if the holiday was created to honor the "Martyrs of Chicago", as the official history says, why the holiday is not on May 4th? Makes no sense at all. The only logical explanation is: anniversary of the Illuminati (and 121st day of the year - 11 x 11) |
