My daughter's 5th grade class S.O.L. scores averaged 98% , I noticed at the graduation ceremony yesterday that there were only 5 or 6 blacks in the whole 5th grade class( about 65 to 70 kids) and none of the black kids were called up for a perfect S.O.L score.

intelligence assessments are a complex of intrinsic and environmental as well as situation factors and not just some static absolute number.
Those who grow up with a push for knowledge as a stepping stone to success will generate higher values than those that stay in bed and drunk all day.

There may be a range within which any one individual cannot excel beyond, but giving a shit and not giving a shit can lead to wide variations in scores achieved by the same individual.

IQ is primarily concluded from ones ability to PROBLEM SOLVE. And this is an ability of your brain..... or it isn't. No matter what you know or you dont know, if you are given two parts of a problem to visualise, think out and come to a conclusion and you cant do it, it is often because the brain you have is not equipped to do it. Most of the kids in the inner city just don't care. These tests and the school system ate designed to dumb down all who enroll, it turns out cubicle workers and idiots with useless facts. I don't blame them, these tests aren't a measure of intelligence, there a measure of how well one can remember BS so that eventually you can join the world of "smart" sheep who now lace the pockets of the rich. The world we live in is dying for a lack of intelligence and wisdom not useless facts, and those who are able to regurgitate them serve the purpose of the elite. We as the africans in america need to remove these children from the formal educational system, educate them on their real heritage and un brain wash them into hating themselves. Get rid of the destructive rap BS and sensless paper chase and dollar dollar bill yall mentality. I've home schooled my children since birth and they are so incredibly brilliant, I've taken them to places in africa and haiti and other places to show them the ruins of a great people. My older daughter attends a very mixed-race (fact, not racist) middle school in Houston. I have noticed that the ethnic groups do not mix very well. Before school, during lunch, after school... Asians, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics... all group together for the most part.

My younger daughter is in grade school, and the kids do not notice each others color or race.

So something is happening in the 7th - 9th grades and I have to think it is tied to the atmosphere in the schools as much as anything else. They let the black kids in Middle school, move tables around so that they can all sit together during lunch. My guess is that there are a few blacks, and the same for other races, that have a very racial slant to their attitude (got from home?) - and they peer pressure their own into groups. The school allows this to happen...

They tend to take the same classes as well.

Well the blacks don't have the "shit" to get together. I am convinced it is overwhelmingly genetic. Even with endless study and help, the black student can never be better than pretty good.

In "The Bell Curve" they argue, based on evidence, that some groups of blacks have excellent study habits relative to (say) whites, and so they are able to mask their lower intrinsic ability to a small extent. But the main push comes from affirmative action, that just gives them the rewards for inferior performance.

You don't want the alternative, esp. if you are white. That would be for kids to be forced to mix, work in groups, and for the smarter to be forced to tutor the dumber rather than being taught new challenging material geared to their level.

But that would allow the school to say that ALL students succeeded, by changing the definition of "success".

I suspect part of what is happening is that around 7th grade some students are hitting a cognitive limit. So the "dropouts" and the "geeks" group among their own types, asn an important part of their particular shared experiences in school. And those levels of academic success are highly correlated with race.

Another part is that naturally at a certain stage of social development, people tend to gather with those who are like them. Maybe it's when they start thinking of forming families of their own, and the racial characteristics of kids they look forward to having.

I am 50 and when I was in elementary school they tried bussing... to be honost with you I really have never been around black kids or people at that point. It was a failure, I remember my parents stressing about my baby sister being bussed across town to the hood.... in an all black school. I want things to be right with everyone, but to be honost I think caucations have really reached out. It doesnt seem to work, so my question now is ? When is our debt going to be paid back ? Never ?
