Serious question. I don't see the rear lights *change* (get brighter or dimmer). Either he had the brake pedal pushed the whole time, or it was never pushed at all.

You can see the edge of the tv screen or monitor being filmed.

The first thing I noticed was that the TAIL END of his car was lit up light a Christmas tree as he sped past the camera. Watch. Stop at :14 sec - :15sec.

My guess = Roughly 130mph..

Fastest I've gone was 132mph on a Kawasaki Z1000 Motor Cycle.

Hmm perhaps bombs were planted in and under the car and it was taken over hacked etc. I wonder if Hastings was the one that was going to come out on the Glen Beck show. Glen Beck came out saying that some guy knew enough to be terrified for his life and that he would only speak about it in front of a full congressional hearing. Then the crash and Beck fizzled out. Beck said he had something or someone coming forward that would absolutely destroy the current power structure.

My AV does not like that site says contains a known security threat and has been blocked!

If the car was hacked, it could have increased fuel to the injectors, maybe dumping tons in? It could have accelerated the car as fast as it could go and locked the steering down.

Of course the car exploded to hell and back and the body got cremated so really what does anyone have accept for video evidence, testimonies about his driving style (but even if he WAS a speed demon, NO ONE is a speed demon like that just for the heck of it on a road like that unless they want to kill themselves!)

And then the other thing we have is how same type cars routinely behave in crashes and safety test records for cars like that in head on collisions.

He was sabotaged. I can't look at that and see anything else.

I don't have the heart to watch it. Does it look like a drone could have done it? Also so easy to take over the car through hacking - he may not have had any control over the car at all.

It's easy to believe that it was not an accident.

It's difficult to estimate speed because the camera lens appears to be wide-angle, making the car appear to be traveling faster than it actually was. Maybe someone can pick out landmarks, determine their distances on Google Earth, measure how long it took for Hastings' car to travel between them and calculate speed.

no whats odd is the rate of speed the officer was going until he seen the flames "oh shit", then all the emergency vehicles on s scene at 4; minutes after red light. Whats that 1 min after crash.

What happens when you get in too deep.

They want this to be an example, and a kind of veiled threat to all investigative journalists out there. If you become that kind of threat to them you can be eliminated.

It can be done, and leave no trace, nothing to blame but driver error, or drunk driving... I've seen it happen to more than one person who got in too deep and became a threat.

Hastings' family has told Rolling Stone that they do not believe he was assassinated. "I don't believe it's a conspiracy," his brother Jeff Hastings said. "There's no part of me that's troubled by that."



They're scared. They can't honestly believe there was no foul play in this tragic murder.

Here is something none of you have mentioned.

Before you even see the car in the video the front of the restaurant is lit by the cars headlights momentarily which means the car was pointed at the restaurant at that moment.

He had already "lost" it at that point. As the car comes past the restaurant it is almost straight and starting to slew to the left. Looks like he was on the brakes at that point.

If you hit a tree at 90mph+ the rupturing of the gas tank and the possibility of shorted wires from crash damage can most certainly cause an explosion and fire.

There was no bomb, no drone missile.

I do not see that the resulting damage or fire is out of line with the speed of the crash considering a tree was hit.

It does look like the braking lamps are illuminated...

Please find a another similar Mercedes Benz with a ruptured gas tank. And engine separated from chassis.

Why not let Merc have a look? I realize the days of over-engineered Mercedes is gone, but they still spend shitloads on R&D and engineering. Ain't much about the car they don't know.

If the throttle is frozen at 100% the transmission stuck in top gear, and the ABS forced into "slip mode" you can put both feet on the break peddle and it will not slow the vehicle at all... There really is only one way this can end...

They blew the car up to eliminate the evidence of hacking. Had it just been hacked Mercedes would likely not be happy about it.

i have watched it frame by frame and full speed several times. It looked like the road was illuminated (like a spot light) just ahead of him... perhaps he was outrunning the spotlight

There's no way he can be stomping the brakes and doing 100+, and yet the video shows both.
