Texas is preparing to secede from the union and become an “independent nation” if the U.S. continues to “fall apart.”

Barry Smitherman, Texas’ Railroad Commissioner and candidate for Attorney General said, “Generally speaking, we have made great progress in becoming an independent nation, an ‘island nation’ if you will, and I think we want to continue down that path so that if the rest of the country falls apart, Texas can operate as a stand-alone entity with energy, food, water and roads as if we were a closed-loop system.”

In the interview, Smitherman noted that Texas “has been very strong leading in the charge against the Obama administration” and that Texas is advantaged to secede because it’s “uniquely situated because we have energy resources…and our own independent electrical grid.”

Excellent point ! Most people around the country do not know about Texas "turn over orders" which carry up to 6 months in jail if you don't "turn over" the money when a judgment is rendered against you. Meaning: TEXAS HAS DEBTOR PRISONS.....(I'm in Alabama and represented a friend in Court there). Unbelievable.
