New Asteroid Threat Seen


British astronomers warned Tuesday of a potential — but remote — threat of a newly discovered asteroid striking Earth in 11 years' time.

The asteroid, called "2003 QQ47" and weighing some 2.8 billion tons, could strike earth on March 21, 2014, the Leicester, England-based Near Earth Objects Information Center, or NEO, said in a statement.

The chances of a hit are estimated at one in 909,000. But the NEO warns that probability is based only on 51 observations over seven days of an object three-quarters of a mile wide and moving through space at 19 miles a second.

We (U.S.) has DIRECT ENERGY WEAPONs in space thanks to E.T.s reverse engineering so I am not worried about this.

Just like Comet Ison was blasted to bits with one of the Direct Energy Weapon that is parked near the Sun.

I don't know..However we are seeing so many Comets and Fireballs lately over the skies....They might not be able to keep up with all of them...That was obvious from last Feb and the Asteroid that hit Russia...

Remember, the asteroid B612, the one only measured 40-meters across, yet destroyed area roughly the size of San Francisco Bay Area, destroying 80 million trees over a 1000 square mile area.

Regardless of size, I worry about the amount that can fall in a given amount of time, like rock hail. Is that even a remote possibility?

If so how could they gather enough info in 7 days to say nothing will happen and we are in the clear?

I'm gonna keep a close watch on this one until I'm satisfied there is enough info to say nothing will happen.
