Violating the school dress code is indeed a violation of school policy, but to elevate it to a level where one could be indefinitely detained, without charge or trial, is going way too far. Just in case, we contacted the school to see what they had to say about the incident, asking if they truly considered this on the level of a bomb threat, and they doubled down.

The principal refused to speak to the issue, but instead forwarded it to their PR manager, who responded to us. Though the school claims threats were made, they provide no examples or proof to back up their claims…and they still want to consider this terrorism.

Obviously the principal has accepted his programming.
A few hit movies, a few hit TV shows all in regard to terrorism. And now it seems to present in say 35 to 40%
of all aired content, not including interweb news content.

Content producers are out of ideas. I for one am sick of
all the terrorism content programming. It's unhealthy.
And now, it's boring.

Our dress code was that we had to be dressed. Beyond that, nobody cared.

For me, my mom inspected us each morning for appropriate dress and if we were not appropriate we were sent back to our rooms to change...

At my house it was not the school's responsibility to be sure I was dressed correctly it was mine and my parents.

Complete idiots.......but in a day and age where an elementary student can be expelled for eating a bologna sandwich shaped like a gun, it doesn't surprise me.

It's righteousness and I think parents need to teach their kids that anytime any abuse of power happens at the school, to come home, and the big momma bear will grab a voice amplifier and go knock the bad guys dark occult hoodies off.

My kids were always told to run home and once I saw the Saudi Social Studies text they had, made a huge stink and he was not required to attend that course for his grade, so they're afraid of parents organizing a stink.

So that is what parents have to do and they have to teach their children about whats going on.

If it was my kid, I would be down at the school shoving a copy of the U. S. Constitution in somebody's face.

When I was in high school we had a major protest about dress code. Which in part (there was more but this is an example) of no T shirts for boys and dresses only for girls policy. We did a school walkout once a week until dress code was changed. After about three walkouts, policy was changed.

The principal and PR should both be fired.
