The two years statue of limitations runs out today on civil suits. I can't imagine that they would let this go to trial. I assume that they are trying to blackmail BUSHMASTER with the intention of settling before trial. Wouldn't all the evidence have to come out in a civil trial. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37651906 Here you go: [link to www.dailymail.co.uk] Your papers appear to be in order "It's all fun and games...until we have to cover it up" |

The lawsuits are not directed at the school or the lack of medical response. Interesting they don't feel the need to go after Peter Lanza since you could make the claim that he pushed Adam to this point by not communicating with him for 2 years. |

That'd be like suing Ford because the guy that ran over your dog was driving a Ford. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 58693384 United States 12/14/2014 12:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's now 13 (at least) families suing; the online access to the civil court case system was taken down Friday and won't be back up until tomorrow. Hard to believe that's coincidence. My guess would be some kind of tracking deal so lawyers can keep track of who's searching for litigants, or else some kill switch to hide certain cases pending (no doubt) some new secrecy law Malloy is no doubt working on again. Just guesses. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66056350 [link to mic.com] "Parents of first-graders murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School are planning to sue gunmaker Bushmaster, the manufacturer of the AR-15 rifle used by Adam Lanza to kill 20 children and seven adults, including his own mother." You have to understand what they are doing. Filing a lawsuit against some entity so they don't have to show proof. Don't we remember the outcry a short while after the first supposed lawsuit was filed that placed the school and other authorities as the defendants? That was shouted down ( again...supposedly) and deemed cruel and insensitive. Go after Nancy Lanza? What about Peter. There are supposed notes from him encouraging Adam to go shooting with Peter. Peter should be part of the suit as well. Selective PR management kids. Marketing 101. Headfake. Call it what you want. Although the dirty little secret is that if they file these lawsuits it will absolutely clear up any question if this was a drill or a planned narrative event. |

It will be interesting to see if they make any public statements to that effect, or if they end up defending the suit without accepting the premise that people were killed. Probably not, they're probably as fascist as anybody. |

If this is true they will settle before the case go to trial |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 62776336 United States 12/15/2014 03:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wasn't the Bushmaster outside in his car!? GREAT! All we need now is autopsy photos showing people were indeed killed by said gun! LOLZ And what about one against $400,000 a year, can't wait to shoot with you Daddy Lanza!? Lawsuits against the Columbine killers parents dragged out for sometime. Those parents also sued the state, school and police. But no they have no agenda. /sarcasm I wish a manufacturer had the balls to take this to trial. People were killed with our products!? PROOF PLEASE! No proof,no monies! Suck on that families! They already got money, trips on Air Force One and other private aircraft, toys, a 50 million dollar school (when the national average for even wealthy communities is $15-$19 million!!), and much more! What do poor families on the south side of Chicago get when their kids are truly killed by gun fire!? Jack Sh*t! These mofo's want to change our constitution and enact federal laws and we have NOT ONE shred of proof anything happened that day! Or a story that is halfway believable! A severely anorexic (112 pounds & 6ft tall) dancing fool (DDR)hermit/Rambo with beyond military sniper kill rate !?? Screw these greedy pigs! Put up (proof) or shut up!! |

I think this is bullshit story just put out to the media to keep the sheep believing the official story. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68120880 United States 02/17/2015 12:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BREAKING: The law firm representing ten families who lost family members in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting filed a motion to remand its suit against gun manufacturers and others back to state court. Defendants in the lawsuit filed and won a motion to move the case to federal court. Law firm Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder originally filed the suit in state Superior Court. “This is transparent forum shopping by Bushmaster and the other defendants to avoid answering for their conduct in state court,” said Josh Koskoff of Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder. “But the law is clear – there is simply no basis for a federal court to exercise jurisdiction in this case.” “Defendants are essentially asking a federal court to decide the merits of the families’ entire case in order to dismiss Riverview and assert jurisdiction over the case,” said Koskoff. “It’s completely backwards...We welcome the opportunity to defend the merits of our case, but the law is clear that that fight must be had in state court.” Continued: [link to patch.com] |
Epic Beard Guy User ID: 26240425 United States 02/17/2015 12:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bushmaster can't be held liable, there is a federal law protecting them from liability from misuse of their product. That's why the ambulance chasers want the case back in state court. My question is "Why is Bushmaster involves at all? The AR was found in the trunk of the car." Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |
