How did those invited to heaven per-qualify for their assignment?

Well, here is a big hint Jesus gave to the first eleven who qualified:




“However, YOU are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials; 29 and I make a covenant with YOU, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom, 30 that YOU may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel."- Luke 22:28-30

What do you mean by 'those invited'?

Heaven is not automatic, it is invitation only


" For this reason, brothers, all the more do YOUR utmost to make the calling and choosing of YOU sure for yourselves; for if YOU keep on doing these things YOU will by no means ever fail"-2 Peter 1:10

At the last supper Jesus introduced the heavenly invitation;
“However, YOU are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials; and I make a covenant with YOU, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom", Lk22:28
Prior to this there was no concept of man going to heaven.

Thanks but I mean in the sense that we choose don't we? We are all invited?

Eveyone is invited to reside forever upon the earth, as that was God's original purpose......but there are qualifications....as for heaven, God's Kingdom Heavenly government is made up of Christ Jesus as King and a limited number of humans who God chooses that will rule with Christ as part of that Kingdom.....they do not choose themselves

No even Jesus didn't have that authority, only God himself;
"Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee approached him with her sons, doing obeisance and asking for something from him. 21 He said to her: “What do you want?” She said to him: “Give the word that these my two sons may sit down, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom.” 22 Jesus said in answer: “YOU men do not know what YOU are asking for. Can anyone invite their own self can pronounce them self qualified by virtue of their faith?
