Detroit was the Motor City and it was great because GM was there, but then because of NAFTA they went to China and Detroit became a hell hole.

If by "the government" you mean the federal government then you should have paid attention in Jr. High civics class. Detroit has it's own city government. Above that is the government of the state of Michigan. Michigan is one of 50 different states. The federal government was created to serve as an arbiter between the states, not a ruler over them.

If you really are so stupid that you are asking why the federal government doesn't bypass a state government and a city government to involve itself on a person to person basis within a city then you fail at being an American.

Detroit receives, over a hundred million a year, form the Federal Government. Baltimore, received over a billion dollars, of "stimulus" money.

The jobs left and the city collapsed, because of black people. They destroy everything.

In 1960, Detroit had the highest per capita income of any US city. Since 1962, Detroit has had nothing but Democratic leadership.
