That sounds awesome OP. SKS is a very simple and reliable rifle. Standard issue older cousin to the AK. Auto only wastes ammo, anyways. Would recommend kalinkaoptics for scope mount and PSL scopes, of your choice. But be wafned, many authentic Russian optics go for more than the platform itself.

Buy Cracked corn, throw a little whole corn in the mix to make them think they got something.
The cracked corn will keep them coming back otherwise they Hoover the whole corn till it's gone.
This part sounds Out of the Box but fling the cracked corn up into the trees with leaves.
What your doing is putting out a Large scent drifting in the air, the dust remains on the leaves.
Hog Traps work but if they escape capture once, you'll never see that Hog again.

Ya thats what I hear. Im gona dig a hole with my post hole digger and pour corn in it, then pour strawberry coolaid and water. then cover with dirt, they will smell it and work at getting it for a while.

Be sure to use soft-points for the hogs, not FMJ.

You will need to protect your garden with hog-proof fence--I like cattle-panels on t-posts, with tent stakes at middle of panels.

Hogs are very smart and have incredible ability to smell scents. Kill a hog every 6 months for a supply of meat.

How will you get your electric? Your water?

Those 250 gallon plastic containers that are sold on craigslist for about $60 can make good water containers and also serve as septic tanks.

there is electric in the area. will cost us $7000 to $10,000 to run to our land. Going to use as much solar and rain collection as possible.

To prevent termites, dig a shallow trench all about your structure and pour Fipronil termite treatment along the trench.

Are you setting some concrete pillars or using concrete blocks?
