Once upon a time, I was the Weekend Administrator of a large, regional hospital. It was a perfect job for a grad student because I could study all weekend. The nurses only called me in for irate patients, legal disputes, etc.

On Saturday night, I was cruising the ER to get a cup of their coffee. I noticed a little skinny guy sitting in the waiting room. He looked like he had swallowed a beach ball. His belly was HUGE!

Later, I asked one of the ER docs about the patient. He just shook his head.

"Can you believe the guy is a technician at an Army lab? He called in sick TWO MONTHS AGO because he felt ill. He has been laying on the couch all that time. And he has not had a bowel movement!"

They had moved him immediately into surgery.

A bit later, a surgeon called me to bring the hospital camera (a very expensive one at that to the OR).

I went down with the camera. A doc waved me into the OR.

"I can't go in. I'm not gowned or sterile", I said.

"Oh, it's not sterile in there anymore! We had just started to open him up when he exploded!"

Sure enough, I went in. There was shit on the ceiling, on the walls, all over the staff.

BTW, the patient had over 70 lbs. of poop in him when his abdomen exploded.
