I was thinking about Rzev as well. Some here might want to research Rzev. All you ever hear about are the battles of Moscow and St. Petersburg (Stalingrad). They were unable to bomb the UK into a peace treaty preventing them from securing the western front before turning east for the invasion of the Soviet Union preventing a 2 front war. So they failed. They lost almost 2,000 aircraft and more than 3,000 aircrew that were needed later in 1941 against the Soviet Union. They failed.

I just want to add this about the glorious Churchill.

He attacked the French navy(Britain's Allie)at port and and killed over two thousand French sailors.

He did this to prove that the Brits would kill anyone so America would join the war.

Of course they do. The Japanese did so at Pearl Harbor. That's exactly what they did. But they miscalculated. But that's nonetheless exactly what they did -- attempt to knock out the U.S. Pacific Fleet, giving them (the Japanese) enough time to continue their imperialism throughout the Pacific.

That isn't really true. The US provided huge numbers of trucks and jeeps along with some tanks and planes and other supplies. But the Germans had already lost by the time much of this material had arrived in the Soviet Union. The Red Army held off the Wehrmacht in 1941 without US equipment and in the end had to retreat from Moscow. And after 1941 Germany had lost. Oh, Germany was still winning at the time, but it had become a war of attrition and Germany could never win that. Many of Germany's top generals said after the war they knew they had lost after they failed to take Moscow. If the US hadn't supplied equipment to the Soviets through Lend Lease it would have taken the Soviets longer to recapture their territory and push the Wehrmacht back to Germany... but it was inevitable.

Germany almost beat the Soviet Union at the Battles of Moscow, Stalingrad, Kursk, etc. But they didn't, they came in second.

the merciful Hitler's Luftwaffe bombed and sunk a large portion of the Allied ships evacuating Dunkirk. Oh, and about Stalingrad - this military genius re-directed his forces southward to the Caususus with intentions of invading India. He was either a nutter, or he wanted to lose the war. For a more revealing possible explanation, look up the account of Rommel's meeting with Hitler around that time (it's supernatural).
