I can smell the Holy Spirit! Anyone else?

Yes I have also had this experience, when I was attending a Christian retreat for a week, early every morning I would cheerfully join a prayer group, the last morning the Pastor talked on the sweet incence of Jesus and The Holy Spirit he took us through a brief study and prayer and finished with Worship the room was filled with such a beautiful scented fragrance it lingered in my nostrils the whole day.

Yes so have I,, I smelled a powerful bust of wild honeysucklers. Beautiful.. Oh what Heaven is going to be like, and the beautiful aromas... (Please pray for me as well.) Be warned though, the weight is going to be heavy. Visit my church web site www.churchofgod.org

That's awesome OP! I"ve never smelled it before, but I've felt it and it's very real. I believe you, and I'm thrilled for you!

Sounds like an angel to me. I believe in guardian angels, or angels that are sent to help us, to minister to us, to uplift us and encourage us.

I've felt the Holy Spirit several times in my life, sometimes mind blowing experiences, and sometimes just gentle peaceful love. God gives us what we need at the time, and it's never the same exact experience.

Last week I was laying in bed praying and I felt the Holy Spirit, it was like a very heavy warm blanket of love. That's really the only way I can describe it. He is so awesome!

The phenomenon might be an effect of the Holy Spirit on the believer. Such as when the bush burned, but was not consumed. This can happen during sincere worship.

It is real the anointing, the smell you speak of and yes have experienced it. Thank you for making this thread when you did.

How about a prayer to draw more unbelievers to God and for those that are already there that wish to feel the Holy Spirit's presence more strongly would, in fact, be able to do so.

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about that fragrance is for real. diregard all the other negative things you have heard. the fragrance you are talking about is a strong sweet smell. and then it leaves the room doesn't it as though it never came.

Yes ...I have smelled the sweet fragrance of His presence..always for me it has been during deep worship...although a couple of times when I had been late getting to the church ....it overwhelmed me as it hit my senses as I walked in. Last night we had a wonderful worship praying for our city, families, country and each other and when I smelled that sweet sweet fragrance I said to myself "here we go" and yes it got intense...God's power and presence directed the evening...It was still lingering in my nostrils this morning.....beautiful!

Sometimes when I pray, I can smell flowers burning, like roses on fire. It's the Ruach Ha'Kodesh.

I also have had the fragrance of the Holy Spirit fill a section of my house at one time or another. I also was unnerved by it the first time, this week 4.9.12 I was sitting in my family room and a definite fragrance of roses was presented to me. It was undeniable and it lasted a few minutes. I called a christian friend and she said to pray asking if it was from the Holy Spirit to ask for it to return, and it did return. I enjoyed the pleasant fragrance and knew He was with me... To the people who have not had the experience, do not be unkind, it may happen to you one day and you will be frightened and amazed at the same time. I am a solid individual who has been a business owner for 19 years. I can not explain it but I have had this experience 4 times in my life.

Yes, I too have smelled it! I was just asking my wife this evening if she ever smelled it. To me it's not as sweet as flowers as it is sweet and savory at the same time. It's nearly always during worship. I've smelled it in most other churches I've been in but not my home church. For many other reasons we've been searching for another home church. I always just passed it off thinking there is no way God is going to make a physical impression on my through my olfactory senses and that maybe the churches use a particular artificial scent to fool people into thinking they've experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit. But now I'm reading for the first time that others have smelled it too and also that it doesn't smell the same to each person.

I've never experienced any kind of supernatural smells. I've heard of people smelling roses before while praying the rosary, but the holy spirit smell is new to me.

I smelt the fragrance twice, the first time I ran and hid in the bathroom! The second time I was talking to an elderly woman! Its such a beautiful mixed scent that is so wonderful and intoxicating that you want to keep smelling it forever!!! I wish it would happen again! I thought I was crazy because the people in the room with me didnt smell it! I am glad you have had this blessed experience also!!

I smell the holy spirit daily. This has been happening for about a month on the heels of another astounding spiritual event. The best aroma I have ever smelled. I am reassured that he is with me always through the aroma. I am blessed that he loves me so much! My life, my world has changed and I love him so much for everything that he has done! God is an awesome GOD!!!

Today my pastor preached on the Holy Spirit from Ephesians 6 and praying I'm the Holy Spirit and to learn to pray at home or anywhere as much as possible.. So I had to help a neighbor today by taking her to a few stores .. I stayed in the car when she went in and was praying in the Spirit the while time.. As she came back to the car I stopped but started to smell a smell kinda like beautiful mix if flower and mur .. Then I took her to another store and I did the same thing... But this time when she got in the car she was over taken by the beautiful smell and she could not figure out why she was smelling this pleasant smell and also said it started when we stopped at the other store.. I told her that's when I started to smell it and what I had been doing.. Praying in the Holy Spirit... That was a first , and I still get a whiff of the beautiful smell time to time.. I feel it's the Holy Father letting me know He's with me and heard me..
