Are you sure that God is speaking about David in that psalm?
What does the rest of the psalm say? Does David fulfill its words?

And what of this, Psalm 110:

Who is that referring to? Is it David?

In Isaiah 7:14 we read, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel.” In Hebrew it reads, “Hinneh ha-almah harah ve-yeldeth ben ve-karath shem-o Immanuel.” In Hebrew the word almah simply means ‘young woman’ NOT virgin. The proper term for virgin is bethulah. “As early as the second century B.C.,” says the distinguished Hebrew scholar and critic, Salomon Reinach, “the Jews perceived the error and pointed it out to the Greeks; but the Church knowingly persisted in the false reading, and for over fifteen centuries has clung to her error.” (Orpheus, p. 197.) Then, when St. Jerome translated the Hebrew Bible into Latin, known as the Vulgate version which includes the N.T. where the same passage appears again in Matthew 1:23, he intentionally “clung to the error” even though Jerome knew full well that it was an error and false. Hebrew scholars were outraged!! So insistent was the criticism, that Jerome was driven to write a book on the subject, in which he makes a very notable confession of the inherent incredibility of the Holy Ghost paternity-story. He wrote, “For who at that time would have believed the Virgin’s word that she had conceived of the Holy Ghost, and that the angel Gabriel had come and announced the purpose of God? And would not all have given their opinion against her as an adulteress, like Susanna? For at the present day, now that the whole world has embraced the faith, the Jews argue, that when Isaiah says, ‘Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son,’ the Hebrew word denotes a young woman, not a virgin, that is to say, the word is ALMAH not BETHULAH’!! (Jerome, the Perpetual Virginity of Blessed Mary, N&PNF, vi, 336.) And to this very day this blatant, deliberate LIE continues to be taught to unsuspecting sincere people.

Please look closely at Psalm 45, 6-7: it is speaking of God and His throne and kingdom. Speaking of the same One, it goes on to say "your God" even though the passage has not stopped speaking of God as the original subject.

Try this:

Your throne, O God (the Son) is forever and ever.
The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.

Therefore God (the Father), your God (Father), has
anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your
companions ...

As I said before: The use of the word almah versus bethulah does not negate the fact of virginity; it is implied. Unlike today in this culture, the overwhelming majority of young Hebrew women of marrying age would have been virgins. A young unmarried Hebrew woman who was not a virgin would have been disgraced, ostracized and possibly stoned to death.

While I do not follow Jerome, or the idea of perpetual virginity (as the Scripture says that Jesus had physical brothers), the argument presented does not disprove the virgin birth.

The form of the word Elohim, with the ending -im, is plural and masculine, but the construction is usually singular, i.e. it governs a singular verb or adjective when referring to the Hebrew god, but reverts to its normal plural when used of heathen divinities (Psalms 96:5; 97:7). There are many theories as to why the word is plural:

* In one view, predominant among monotheists, the word is plural in order to augment its meaning and form an abstraction meaning "Divine majesty".
* Among orthodox Trinitarian Christian writers it is sometimes used as evidence for the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. This is regarded as fanciful by some secular linguists and some biblical scholars.
* In another view that is more common among a range of secular scholars, heterodox Christian and Jewish theologians and polytheists, the word's plurality reflects early Semitic polytheism. They argue it originally meant "the gods", or the "sons of El," the supreme being. They claim the word may have been singularized by later monotheist priests who sought to replace worship of the many gods of the Canaanite or Semitic pantheon with the Hebrew singular patron god YHWH alone.

A plural noun governing a singular verb may be according to oldest usage. The gods form a heavenly assembly where they act as one. In this context, the Elohim may be a collective plural when the gods act in concert. Compare this to English headquarters, which is plural but governs a singular verb: there are many rooms or quarters, but they all serve one purpose. Thus, it is argued, the meaning of Elohim therefore can mean one god, with many attributes.

The alternative polytheist theory would seem to explain why there are three words built on the same stem: El, Elohim, and eloah. El, the father god, has many divine sons, who are known by the plural of his name, Elohim, or Els. Eloah, might then be used to differentiate each of the lesser gods from El himself.
