There were a couple of websites listed in that thread that list the farms and other businesses that do this and how to contact them.

There's lots of them in U.S. and even in other countries I think.

Never, ever let a day go by without doing/thinking about the things you love to do. Although its a shame to be kicked out of the house, dont waste your time feeling hopeless. You won't regret it. If what you love is not productive, make it productive. Make it work for you. Enhance your skills at something even if you think you have it mastered. It may seem hard to get a job too, but it will happen regardless if you just simply keep trying.

There are volunteer openings (work exchange for lodging and food) on various small organic farms all around the country...they are looking for people right now as this is the beginning of the growing season. You can check out this website: Growfood.org. I'll give you more info if you need it.

Seriously, if you are physically fit and want to do something real, look into organic farming. Many of these places can offer you basic lodging right now. Besides Growfood.org, you can look into the WWOOF program, but that requires ordering a booklet with farm listings off the website.

Same thing happened to me, I joined the Army...Infantry/Ranger school. It was one of the best periods of my life. I managed to save up like 15 grand cash over three years while living in Germany for 4 years. If I had to do it now I probably wouldnt go infantry again, I probably would have stayed in as a career if I had chosen a less challenging MOS....Plus I would have been able to retire last august....instead of still be bouncing around from job to job in this shit economy. Go fix helicopters, maybe a track mounted vulcan AA gun....those things looked really fun, be a medic and then get the GI bill to pay for nursing school...ad in the paper yesterday said male nurses were in great demand and starting at 77k here. The military is huge almost any job you want to do you can start there. I dont mean to sound like a commercial....but you dont seem to have a whole lot going for you otherwise. If you have half a brain and some common sense you can really shine in the military. Not to mention its the honorable thing to do, and instead of being like half the waste on here you will have earned the right to complain about your country.
