I forget the name of that book by Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval about The Orion Message or whatever it was (THE MESSAGE OF THE SPHINX I just remembered), it theorizes that the monuments of Giza depict Orion's belt, but the reason they are laid out that way, and why the Sphinx looks at the horizon and evokes the constellation of Leo, is because of a cycle of culmination where Orion rises higher and higher into the sky until it is at the highest point (now, or soon) and then gradually appears to be lower and lower in the sky til it repeats again in the cycle of the precession of equinoxes.

I guess the culmination of Orion's belt is a big marker of where we are in the cycle of precession and also where we are located in relation to the galactic plane, the galactic ecliptic.

I read that book and a bunch of others like it and then I read "Not by Fire, But by Ice" by Robert Felix about the Ice Ages and the Earth's magnetic field, and I thought that maybe the ancients were trying to warn us about this disruption in the earth's magnetic field that occurs regularly every however many thousands of years, causing volcanic activity and changing the climate.

How can ANYONE come from Orion? It is the name of a constellation - a group of stars millions of light years apart that have no orbital connection to one another because they are merely a pattern drawn thousands of years ago on stars randomly distributed in the sky. Orion is not a locality.

The notion of aliens originating in Orion is nonsensical.

Either specify the exact star in this constellation that has a solar system able to support life (you can't) or else give up this silly nonsense. It's crap.
