Get some real evidence then get back to us speculation and bible verses isnt science isnt facts. |

Quoting: guest 12128229 british fail. British fail? I do astronomy as a hobby, I have books on this. The earth gets hit by solar flares all the time, very small ones. When a bigger one hits, all it does is just mess up with navigational systems and cause power cuts, nothing too serious. People in space are more at risk due to intense radiation, so are people flying at very high altitudes. Only the people in space are higher risks of things such as skin cancer, people in planes are more likely to get sunburn of sorts. NASA also agrees that the earth is protected by a magnetic field, and that Mercury will get the worst of a solar flare, every time. They also agree that because the sun is emitting smaller ones, a BIG one is unlikely now because of a gentle release of pressure. |

junkstopshere User ID: 13998215 United States 04/08/2012 10:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A recent NASA report suggests that a coronal mass ejection could cause wide spread calamity. The doomsday scenario is outlined below. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 615289 Though a solar outburst could conceivably be more powerful, "we haven't found an example of anything worse than a Carrington event", says James Green, head of NASA's planetary division and an expert on the events of 1859. "From a scientific perspective, that would be the one that we'd want to survive." However, the prognosis from the NAS analysis is that, thanks to our technological prowess, many of us may not." I've just become interested in Solar Mass Ejections as a potential global extinction event. Can the Sun project masses large enough to destroy the Earth as we know it? Should we be looking for practical ways of individually controlling space/time/gravity as proposed? [link to www.support-port.com] I find that traditional particle physics is not producing useful tools that will be able to protect us from these types of global extinction events. Actually, I don't know of any useful tools that particle physics has provided. |

"seek and ye shall find" is a probability that all religion base their premise upon. "we are doomed" are the popular placards held by the homeless in many popular movies. what we do know is death is certain.. the thing we do not know is what is 'on the otherside' cool i think..... Last Edited by CitizenPerth™ on 08/31/2012 07:38 AM It's life as we know it, but only just.
