Wrong. It was fully possible to not only confirm that you were seeing YU55, but you could have even plotted its orbit and determined that it was getting farther away from earth using nothing but the video feed I provided you and knowing that I was in Florida (a fact I mentioned in the chat room at least once that night). I determined the orbit using just that data myself.

Wrong again. I'm an amateur astronomer, not a "disinfo agent." I back up what I say and what I presented was completely confirmable. It is not my problem if you are too "uneducated" to know how to confirm it yourself.

I calculated the orbit of YU55 myself using nothing but amateur data before the approach happened. My results confirmed the JPL trajectory of the approach. Using the video from my broadcast I've now been able to confirm that my prediction was right and the asteroid followed the trajectory I said it would. That's not trivial information, it completely debunks the OP, and it debunks your claim that I'm a "disinfo agent." I'll be posting the results of my orbital calculation from the video along with the data later tonight.

Astrometrically solving several images from the video and using the data on the object's position to calculate its orbit would have told you that. I did just that last night, and I'll upload a video showing the results tonight. Just saying, that is something you can figure out. Not only does it show you the fact that it was indeed YU55, it shows that YU55 was following the trajectory JPL said it would follow.

What were all the streaks in the foreground and if they were stars what were the white spots in the background?

In which video? Mine, or clay center? If mine, do you mean the occasional streaks whenever I moved the telescope?

They were tracking on the asteroid, so the stars streaked by. The other dots were hot pixels. Notice how they don't form what astronomers call a "point spread function" in the image, whereas the asteroid does; the asteroid's light isn't confined to a single pixel and is spread out a bit, even though they're focused properly.

ah, thank you. that makes sense. i kept asking about that when it was going on but no one seemed to relay to me that they were "tracking" yu55. I thought i was looking at a "fixed" feed and maybe the streaks were debris moving with yu55 or something.

Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing... In any case, the point I was trying to make is that these things are all verifiable, in fact the solution is quite elegant, I would even say beautiful. With just a regular amateur telescope and a sensitive video camera it's entirely possible to calculate and verify the orbit of an asteroid by yourself from your own sidewalk. To me... that's amazing. By the same token, anyone can validate the orbital solution themselves using the video I streamed the other night.
