ObamaCare-Even if they let you on Medicaid, you won't be able to find a doctor for M19+

Now, my autistic son is on Medicaid and I have him signed up with a doctor, but this doctor's office is so full of shit, that you show up with a kid running a fever and their answer is always, "It's Viral", send them to school anyway, and I end up taking the kid to the doctor that I go to and just pay cash to get a prescription and maybe a strep throat check, which the medicaid doc will NOT do under any circumstances.

We have the medicaid. Can only find 2 dentists to accept it in kc area ;(

I hear all the liberals on here who want to say that they are going to get Free and Low Cost health insurance, but I can tell you what this is going to look like right now. I seriously want them to tell me how they really think this is going to shake out for them.

What kind of care will you get, people?

I know and you are in a "big city" area. I have to go to the "big city" to find any kind of docs. Here in our small town, the docs don't take this stuff. It doesn't pay well enough.

So, those who get penalized will be paying into the "Federal Medicaid" program with their penalty "TAX" money.

What are they really going to buy? The type of care that we have now, which is crap, but is causing the states to go broke? There are docs out there who have figured out how to bill this shit and how to milk the system and they will "see" you, but refuse to give you adequate treatment because they will get paid just for seeing you and they hold you in contempt, so why should they do anything for your poor ass?

It pays for my autistic sons insurance. I don't have insurance and my husband has no insurance and my youngest son has no insurance. My autistic son takes about 1600.00 worth of medication a month and yes, that is paid for by taxes.

Thank You. I really appreciate it because there is no way I could afford it and without the medications he's really violent and would have to be locked up in a mental institution.

Of course, the depakote and geodon have caused him to now have metabolic syndrome and I'm fighting a hell of a battle to keep him from having Type II diabetes and I'm having to come to terms with the fact that my baby is probably going to die as a young man due to the effects of the medication that allows me to keep him at home. It is no small thing to come to terms with, but I imagine every parent of an autistic that is severe enough to require meds to keep them from being violent is going to have to come to terms with the same horror.

He's really precious and happy when medicated.

The state attorney or something wants to start making the state "marketplace" to keep the Feds from having control over it.

I'm just talking about my experience and I have a lot more experiences than what I'm willing to share, but suffice it to say, this is NOT going to be entirely satisfactory to a lot of people and when you are on the public dole, even for healthcare, you take what you get and you don't throw a fit. If you don't like it, then you can pay for your own, which is what my family has been doing. Paying cash for medical stuff we need, not getting tests cause we can't afford them, but we aren't paying thousands of dollars a year on something we may or may not get the same amount of value back out of such as will be the case with government mandated insurance.

Hey, I'm 67 and have excellent health insurance through my employer. However, I'm old enough to have Medicare and for that reason, I can't get a new General Practitioner doctor. Everyone I call hears my age and says they're not taking new patients. I say I have private insurance and no Medicare and they don't care. Period.

So, I'm figuring on having virtually no care when I retire and have only Medicare. Fortunately, I believe in a healthy diet, exercise, supplements, and herbs. Better hope I stay healthy.

As if that will make a difference. Romney is just Obama Lite -- literally. Obamacare is based on what Romney implemented in Massachusetts. Whatever lies he tells during the election, if he gets elected, he will do exactly what his handlers tell him to do, just as Obama will.

Are you referring to classic autism or a higher functioning ASD such as Aspergers?

It's hard to find ANY doctor that takes ANY kind of government insurance.

I have a pending worker's comp claim, but needed medical attention immediately.

So I was declared disabled by my family physician, went to welfare, got it, and waited another 2 months to see a doctor.

Mind you it took me like 20 calls to even get THAT early of an appointment.

It sucks when you have no where else to turn too, people who abused the system ruined it for people that ACTUALLY needed it.
