No mercy to be found? Weren't you helping her? You know, sometimes its hard to see the work of God. Sometimes its so hard we can't see it, but it is there. He works in ways we can't really understand sometimes, but it doesn't mean He is not doing anything. Think well in your case. You were there, you felt the sorrow for that old lady, you could almost feel her suffering. God sent you, with your good heart to do your best to help her. It could have been a heartless nurse, who would do it with no caress and no propper care, making the situation of that old lady even worse. You might think that the suffering of the lady is lack of Gods compassion or love, because she is suffering in her flesh horrible pain day after day, hour after hour. But suffering is part of life, the one we know as Jesus, came here to go through this himself. The old lady is in pain, but her faith is unshakable. Her misery would be hundreds of times worst without this faith, there is the compassion.
Now you can asck "Why the suffering?". Its simple: its part of the life we live now, in this realm, there's no escape from it. But God is there, right by your side, look closer and you'll see Him, as I saw in the situation you told.

That's sad. I read somewhere, (from an NDE) and a doctor who worked with people near death. One of his patients was suffering tremendously. The patient told him not to worry, part of their suffering was to teach others to become more caring. I don't know if that's what this person's suffering is for, but it's nice to know that you care for them!

You could also pray for God to help you through this, and also pray for the suffering woman. I do know prayer helps when one is stressed, I've experienced it myself.

pray for God, he always listen, God is Love.

Did you personally pray with/for her? And behind everything bad that happens here in the natural will be found responsible, a human. I pray she heals, and you become good soil no rocky ground,amen

You were the mercy to be found. Did you not tend to her wounds? Adminster medicine? Ease her pain? Morn her condition?

Im a nurse also. Everyday is a chance to tend to the hurt, the sick, the emotionally distraught. We come across the most heart breaking situtations and then is when you remember what our profession is reallly about.

Take spiritual time for yourself. Its a hard job but so rewarding.

Jesus never promised physical mercy in this life. In fact, he promised suffering for his followers. But he did promise mercy in the hereafter; it is spiritual mercy, which is much more important than this temporary physical realm.

This world has been under the control of Satan for almost all of human history, so we do see some physical mercy since anything good happens at all. Without God's intervention, nothing good would ever happen.

It's all about trusting God to know what he's doing, in spite of what Satan's doing. Keep your "treasures in heaven", not on earth.

Not trying to be mean, but maybe she deserved it. Karma seems to get us all in the end. I have know a few people who pretend like they are good Christians but in reality believe Animal sacrifices & cutting off baby boy foreskins is acceptable.

You should have learn something about faith, the little old lady wasn't complaining. Life is something you have to get through and there are lessons along the way, God did not say we would always be safe from pain and suffering. It is how you go through it, the grace the woman was given is more important than her feet.

There is death and murders horrible things that happen to the most innocent but man is the cause, God and his Son comforts. Just know that thing happen, but the suffering isn't belief it is the living and excepting somethings you don't get answer to, that is a test of faith, your faith not hers.

Why are you asking me these things? Is there something in what I said that makes you doubt?

WTF! she is a nurse not a fucking preacher. Her job is to apply science ( medication ect) not pray with some women, ffs

Ask Jesus; he's the one who said "keep your treasures in heaven". And you're completely missing the point of why I even used that phrase. It was in conversation with someone else, not you.

We are not allowed to ASK her to pray, but if asked we are encouraged to pray with them IF THEY ASK.,. especially in LTC.

We can also offer to call the proper religous figure for the patient, make room for prayer vigils. Etc..... spirituality IS part of nursing. As well being is more then the application of science.

Well said. Some people who chant "science! science!" would prefer a sterile, hopeless world.

Sin. Satan. This should be common knowledge among Christians.

And I don't mean HER sin but the entrance of sin into the world when Adam rebelled against God. This handed over the world to Satan, who runs it in the manner we'd expect. He enjoys making the innocent suffer. The test of our faith, then, is to trust God in spite of it, to show that we are not fair-weather friends.

Funny. I just woke up with re-newed faith.

The lord want's me too reassure you death is a blessing is disguise and that suffering builds character.

I woke up wanting too suffer because I KNOW in JESUS that its over.

To find God in this , you care so that is a start and there are no coincidence in the Kingdom so this is for you
