It very soon adopted many pagan rituals thanks to the tireless efforts of Constantine to unite Christians and pagans, and they renamed old pagan gods' roles as saints with the same roles. It ceased it's original doctrines of pure Christianity and became a pagan-hybrid. It is more old Roman paganism with a fake Christian face now more than anything else, I think. |
