It's difficult for me to say what is the right thing to do for others. This can be due to location.. but also due to personal Karma, for instance relocating to a "safer place" that would be safer for a whole bunch of people, but on a personal level it could get a certain particular person killed.. makes sense?

So I am not an advisor for relocating ones fiat and paper insurances or able to predict what will be a save asset in the future. Everybody has to figure out what they want to do in the future. On the other hand I don't want to feed self fulfilling prophecies by concentrating on the negative because I think there will also be lots of good experience appearing in our future. Sure Gold and Silver are a good investment in terms of "human working hour storage" because it never loses its intrinsic value over time. On the other hand you can't lend it out, it's kind of bulky. From a speculative point of view it might be 'over-evaluated' soon due to fiat hyperinflation, but that doesn't automatically put Gold-owners in a better position, imagine an invironment in which the basic rule of law has broken down.. bottom line Gold will always by you a ride, a refuge or a loaf of bread.

For storing food, well my granmother taught me to always have a full cupboard lasting ahead for 3 or 4 month.. but here again, what is it worth to have more than that.. when you may have to leave your area very quickly due to a bad weather phenomenon... or a technical fall out, etc, then you should have better invested in good walking boots.
