Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2003899 This would be my first choice, too. However, this is the USA, inc. The totalitarian/socialist/fascist regime that dupes people into believing they are part of the legislative process and/or that they have some fundamental freedoms would never allow their militarized police force to be disbanded. How many of our children must be sacrificed before people stop standing for it? As for the dickhole that called me a sheeple for posing the question - what is your solution? Continue to allow children to be shot to death for playing with toys that threaten the police authority over our ever breathing moment in this nation?? Is protecting our children from police violence and needless, early death really the trait of a sheeple? Or is a sheeple more likely to be the person bitching about the Ferguson riots in response to a cop getting trigger happy? Which is it? Taking steps to prevent our children from being shot by cops, or responding to violence with more violence? Perhaps we should all simply continue sitting in front of our computer screens, venting our ire and doing not a goddamn productive thing. Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. |

As kids we roamed the streets with replica Thompson machine guns, M-1 carbines....you name it. NO ORANGE TIPS, GASP !!!!! Guess what !.....none of us got shot by our friendly neighborhood police men, not once. Our cops were part of the community. The problem is the ineptitude and roid rage drugs the new heros are allowed to get away with. Mandatory drug testing for EVERY cop is a must for our public welfare, if it isn't prescribed and controled, you're out. Somewhere along the line they're also given the impression that they can lord over us which has to change too. If they can't meet the criteria.... they can stay home and pull the wings off of flies for their kicks. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65340712 The problem isn't the cops, per se, it's the hiring practices of TPTB. It's clearly not an accident that the standard cookie cutter cop has gone from public servant to law enforcement, that they hire the dumbest fuckers that can sign their own names and that they psychologically profile them so they are aggressive as fuck, too. I don't believe the guns are the problem, but they are within our power to control. I mean, the masses of America, Inc. have already demonstrated that not only will they sit back and be brutalized and allow their children to be murdered, too, but that they will disparage those who stand against police brutality as well. We are too divided as a nation to do anything about the cops- that much is clear. Too concerned with being 'law abiding citizens' never mind that the laws are unjust and we have a patriotic duty to stand against unjust laws. We are a generation raised on the idea that if someone has committed a crime, no matter how petty, arbitrary or contrive, they are somehow lessor and no longer worthy of fundamental human rights or consideration. We have allowed this nation to become the biggest police state in the history of the world, and the majority of us are happier for it. So how to protect our kids from all of the 'safety and security' we demand in order to feel safe and protected from the terrorists?? They play together on OUR property. I would never ever tell my children to play with them at a park or away from our home unless they were at a place that is designated for such activities. They know how to behave and it is obvious that my children are playing - like little boys do. They are not trying to emulate some thug they saw on a rap video, or God Forbid, one of their criminal relatives. |

Why was a 12 year old allowed to have a BB Pistol unsupervised in the first place? It is the PARENTS fault that their kid is dead, not the cops who shot him. BRIEF User ID: 58550136 United States 11/24/2014 02:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's the lack of parenting that's the issue, not guns. Teach your kids right from wrong. Granted it's more difficult to teach black kids, because they are stupid, but you have to keep at it until they behave. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 41917257 United States 11/24/2014 02:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Toy manufacturers have come a long way in the past couple of decades to make toy guns easily and readily distinguishable from actual, functioning guns. Quoting: Em18966 This hasn't stopped cops from habitually killing people - often children or minors - simply for possessing toy guns, or virtually harmless facsimile guns like Airsoft and BB guns - and GETTING AWAY WITH IT. In this most recent case, the following is true, and there is audio of the 9-1-1 call at the source link: "he person who called 911 on the boy CLEARLY WARNED the dispatcher that the child’s toy gun was “fake.” Despite this warning, police shot and killed the boy. Listen to the audio below." [link to filmingcops.com] Now, let's presume that someone was carrying a REAL gun, openly and in public. I mean, this is a Constitutionally protected American right. Yet we are constantly hearing about people dying because they are carrying a gun or believed to be carrying a gun. Clearly, law enforcement has no interest in upholding the Constitution or NOT shooting our children. It has been demonstrated repeatedly. So what are parents to do? I personally don't allow my kids to play with toy guns - I consider them something of a bull's eye on children, an open invitation to be shot by trigger-happy cops. And my kids know how to shoot - we take our AR and our .22 to the range quite often, they are good. But I don't feel as though they are safe in any public area with any kind of weapon on their person - I would hate for them to become the next statistic. So what's the solution? Do we ban toy guns to alleviate confusion? Or do we start holding law enforcement criminally liable for their murderous, Constitution-violating way of conducting their 'business'? I am not holding my breath for cops to garner some humanity and some impulse control - hence the reason MY children don't play with toy guns. I doubt they will ever openly carry, either. It seems to invite trouble, despite its Constitutionality and legality. They'll probably follow in mom's footsteps and get their enhanced concealed carry permit and strap themselves with a couple of strategic holsters. Of course, that doesn't do anything to protect you from cops trained to shoot to kill at the first sight or suspicion of a person carrying a weapon. I mean, they figure even if they're in the wrong they get paid vacation and the city/state will settle with the dead's family for a large, undisclosed sum. Those permits don't protect you from a bullet if a cop has a twitchy finger. Personally, I think they government is using the cops to scare people away from arming themselves, as the Constitution doesn't allow the government to prohibit it. Enough bodies pile up, though, and people will start thinking twice. You're trying to solve the wrong problem. Protect your children with guns. |

Regardless of the parents' role in this.... A sane adult authority figure in service to the public, would have handled the situation differently. The drugged up cops today don't think and only re-act, much like little 12 year old boys. |
