2 Samuel 10 shows us times have not changed . Verse 2 Then David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.”

Once again the loving side of David but that kindness was not received or reciprocated.

What a terrible thing to do, just pure bully behavior. Paranoia is nothing new and listening to others , rather than going to source has never worked out.
Rather than peace we have another battle , verse 19 And when all the kings who were servants to Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Syrians were afraid to help the people of Ammon anymore.

Ammon lost out , the war on earth only has two sides. The war on earth has one enemy , he is very busy around the world right now. The war on earth will end and while it feels like we lose sometimes , God wins in the end. It was never about earthly things or time but the next life to come...satan is at war with God and he uses people, places and things, to try and fight God. God left us Ephesians 6 until Jesus returns once more and this war ends.

Update this morning

fightlikemilesLast night Miles’ heart stopped. Our team was quick to respond and got it beating again, but then it stopped again. For two minutes. My 3 year olds heart stopped for two minutes. We have used the word miracle a lot this week, but our ECMO team member Julie starting his heart a second time was the greatest one we’ve ever experienced.
This happened immediately upon connecting him to dialysis. The opinion is that he didn’t have enough volume in his veins & heart to allow the machine to work. It pulled and there was nothing left for his heart to continue beating. I had three nurses holding me while I screamed for them to save my baby. And they did.
Their quick response kept his brain in tact. His heart is operating normally. His lungs are operating normally. With the exception of now needing to wean off the medication they used to restart his heart, nothing has medically changed between yesterday and today. His kidneys are still failing and that is our big issue now. He is retaining a lot of fluid but not where he needs it. Today we are going to focus on working on his kidneys, because they’re critical. We are hoping by increasing his fluid intake, we can kickstart them into working.
We are in shock. We are severely traumatized. We are terrified. But we are ready to fight just like Miles has. We are not giving up.

Mary K's check came in from the insurance company yesterday afternoon. We are still snowed in, so Monday I will take her to the bank to deposit the check. We will be looking intensely for a car for her, now that they money is in.

fightlikemilesMiles is getting an echo to make sure we have enough volume in his circulatory system and then we’ll be putting him back on dialysis. Yesterday he was on it for all of 30 seconds before his heart stopped. We feel like we’ve figured out what went wrong but the risk is still real that he will react badly again. But we have to help his kidneys. It’s just not an option. Please pray for him. We need this to work

It's a lack of ebay etc... sales to pay bills with kiddo. It's my only income as I live in a small town with few job opportunities that I can do. Trying to survive until later this fall when I start Soc Sec.

My most positive thoughts go out to all of you who can use them. I don't visit this thread often, but I know that it works and that there are angels around that make things happen or at least lighten the burden that is upon us at times.

I have a prayer request for a dear friend of mine, whose son in law was diagnosed with cancer. For now that is all I know, but if you could keep him and the family in your prayers, that would be beautiful.

More prayer needed.

My husbands only friend, Don, passed away from prostate cancer. We found out early this afternoon. Don was a giving person. When Don's sister died years ago, he took in the 5 kids, including his disabled nephew.His nephew, who was now in his early 20's, died of a heart attack 2 weeks ago. Don was still taking care of him, and I think this was why Don lasted so long. When Don was diagnosed 3 years ago, it was already in his bones and other organs. Don had no children of his own, and loved his nephews and nieces. He will be very missed. :(

2 hours later, we went to the store. The roads are not good here, as the city has not cleared them, and we are supposed to get 5 more inches of snow overnight to add to the minimum of 14 inches+ we have on the ground already.

So, to keep my babbling short, we go back to my truck, and the engine light comes on when I start it. I got it home and will have to call the shop Monday morning. So now, we have no vehicles. :(

FYI, the roads are so bad over here, and we are supposed to be getting 5 more inches of snow overnight, that my Pastor cancelled church services for tomorrow morning.

I could use some prayer for my drinking. I’ve been drinking more and more since my wife cheated on me and we divorced. I want to quit but it seems like I keep going back to the habit.
