Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70660296 The aptly named ASASSN-15lh, spotted by the Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN), is a ball of hot gas billions of light years away that radiated energy 570,000,000,000 times more powerful than our Sun at its peak. [link to www.forbes.com] nice one - but from the 15th - im pinnin it anyway we could use an astronomy thread political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45304434 Yes, galaxies are known to have a blackhole inside them which creates anti matter in their jets. Yes but even particle accelerators like the lhc can produce small amounts of anti matter. I'm suggesting the star was able to have its magnetic fields arranged to create a particle accelerator and store the produced antimatter with electromagnetic containment in its magnetic fields. |
