Wife cites 'gun play' in shooting death of Texas MMA fighter in Dallas apartment

Professional MMA fighter Ivan "J.P." Cole died in an apartment where cops were responding to reports of a shooting.

Police officers found Cole, 25, dead around 7:30 a.m. Saturday after shots had been reported at a north Dallas apartment, according to authorities.

Although police described his death as “unexplained" pending autopsy results, his wife attributed the death to “gunplay.”

“I lost my husband to gun play,” Kymberli Cole wrote on a GoFundMe page one day after the couple celebrated their second year of marriage.

“He made a bad decision that cost him his life,” added Cole’s widow, pleading for money to pay for the fighter's funeral and help raise their 4-year-old daughter.

On Friday, she tagged her husband in an anniversary tribute post on Facebook saying he “still gives me butterflies.”

I wonder what could ever possess a man to take his own life.

Especially after he just got done playing Russian roulette!
