I don't smoke, but I am pissed off at the demonisation of smokers in this country. 30 bucks is just plain robbery. It is also illegal to grow your own tobacco for personal consumption. The price of alcohol, in licensed venues and bottle shops, is way higher than the rest of the world. Electrical goods? They used to justify the higher prices in Australia by saying that because we are so far away from the rest of the world, the shipping cost is high. Absolute bullshit when most of these products are made on our doorstep in south-east Asia.

I can't think of any product or service in Australia that is not the dearest in the world.

I'm not sure, but I think the cost of legal representation is ridiculously high in most parts of the world. It would not be right for the authorities to allow the common man easy access to justice.
