Hurricane Florence downgraded to a cat 2 storm | |
Roboto User ID: 75160623 United States 09/13/2018 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ill tell you what happen. Somebody just did a storm dampening agent into the eye. It had the effect to drop the storm but killed the flow of atmospheric electrons for thousands of miles of jet stream. Quoting: MaxwellSmart007 The storm will build twice as strong and slow down a bit. Massive rainfall and the steering engine is gone. Thread: Liberals freaking out over Pat Robertson praying Hurricane Florence out to Sea.... When I read about Pat Robertson praying and being made fun of for praying against the storm, I prayed right then to God to answer His prayers. And laughed at the thought of liberals reaction if it did fizzle out. Fizzling now. Highest lands I'm seeing on land are 35 mph Excuse me> Highest winds I'm seeing on land are 35 mph |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34398756 United States 09/13/2018 03:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks for being the first to help cut the BS-hype that was Florence. I live in the upper midwest and can say that, unlike storms of past where wind damage was typically the worst part, now we mainly deal with massive amounts of rainfall that causes catastrophic flooding. I'm talking there are rivers that have blown so far past their record flood levels that they were resembling their former selves from thousands of years ago. |

She better leave when this all over, otherwise she's dead. |

Quoting: Lily o' the Valley Weather channel headlines read: Hurricane Florence Long Siege is Beginning; Storm Surge, Catastrophic Flash Flooding, High Winds to Hammer the Carolinas, Appalachia Cat 5 Flooding Dangerous Hurricane Florence Slamming Into Coast 50+ MPH gusts already, feet of rain, feet of storm surge yet to come People here saying it's famgless and weak. What to believe, what not to believe? I'd believe the thread which is not deleting posts and posters at an alarming rate. I've been through numerous storms. This one is not something to get hysterical about. It might drop a decent amount of rain but not much more than that. Thank you, *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. LOL I think most of us GLP'ers who live in hurricane alley keep prepared. I've been in Florida since the early 90s and Irma was the only time I evacuated to higher ground. Of course, we only went a couple miles inland to ride it out at a friends house. My shed is stuffed with tarps, plywood, water containers, buckets, generator, etc. |

Ziipher User ID: 72906454 United States 09/13/2018 04:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What category was Sandy when it hit NY? Quoting: Aeon 5 Whoaa! Sandy briefly weakened to a tropical storm on Oct. 27, then gained strength again to become a Category 1 hurricane before turning north toward the U.S. coast. Hurricane Sandy made landfall in the United States about 8 p.m. EDT Oct. 29, striking near Atlantic City, N.J., with winds of 80 mph.Nov 27, 2012 I'm in Jersey, I work for one of the electric companies here in Jersey. Sandy was a problem because of the storm surge it brought with it. We had a full moon, and high tides at the height of the storm. That was the biggest devastation that I saw. Flood waters got so high it took out power plants. Power went out throughout the state. Winds knocked down trees which took out utility poles. While it did damage, and we sure felt it, people were smart enough to stay away from the coast. About 50 people died due to drowning. Cat 1 costs $. Its not complete devastation. If that storm hit as cat 4, it would be a much different situation. This storm looks like a dud. Look at the videos coming in. Biggest problem for them "could" be storm surge from the ocean. I haven't looked to see what the moon is doing, and I haven't looked at tide levels. |

This storm is gonna be nasty. That's real. Trust me, I'm a Cat Adjuster. LOL. seriously, though. It can still be VERY bad even at Cat 1 if it stalls out and churns for a long time. And, I really am a Cat Adjuster. I'm heading there Friday. Its a two day trip for me from Texas. Quoting: TheYzman So you decided to deploy?! Be careful out there. This storm feels so eerie. Yes I did. Was lucky enough to rent the same house I lived in for Hurricane Harvey and Irma. 5 minutes from the office. Fully furnished just outside downtown Columbia S.C. getting all my loose ends tied up here at the house. Don't know if you have signed on with A particular company yet, but, Pilot Catastrophe is a good place to start. Get your adjuster wings. Tons of claims and a lot of support. Contracted with them for many years until I got into the groove and got comfortable. I contract with a smaller company now. Seriously, it's a great business. Great money. Best of luck to you. Indeed, I've known Cat adjusters who make in excess of 300K a year and they work on average only six months of that year.
