Theaters, malls, hospitals, bars, you name it, are defying the Constitution, and their signage should be ignored by anyone who takes personal responsibility for their own safety/security.

The 2nd Amendment is to prevent the government from infringing on your right to keep and bear arms, not private citizens or businesses. If you want to come to my house and I say no guns allowed, NO.GUNS. ALLOWED. Just as your right to swing a fist ends where my nose begins, your right to carry a gun ends where my yard begins. The second you ignore my property rights, you are guilty of trespass and I am within my rights to defend my property with force.

Heard on the news this AM, he had a Concealed permission slip from Alabama.

Revbo, Your home, my home anyone else's HOME is not the same as a PUBLIC place like a mall, theater, etc.

There was a shooting at a mall in Oregon around the same time as Sandy Hook. It ended when a concealed carrier was either seen by or confronted the shooter. The shooter offed himself after that. That citizen defying the mall's "rule" of no weapons, ended that incident.

This mall is private property. Period. It’s not owned by the government. It is owned by a private business. The public may be welcome there, but that doesn’t make it public property. I don’t know why that’s so hard for you to understand.

I agree with you on the merits of private property owners allowing concealed carry on their premises and disagree with this mall’s policy, but as the owners of the mall, they have the right to said policy.

As far as the CCW permit, the only news I can find about that is the victim’s father says he had one. The victim’s family also said he was honorably discharged from the Army when, in actuality, he never made it through basic training so I’ll wait on further confirmation for that.

They're called "throw-downs".

And he surely wasn’t the first. Night time in the Galleria is not the time you want to be shopping with the kids if you catch my drift.

The article below says he was involved in the mall incident, but after the investigation, they feel he did not shoot the gun that injured the people.

Also....
The US Army says he completed basic training, but never completed AIT, which is done right after basic. He never served in the military.

"Bradford's Facebook page says he was a US Army engineer. But he did not complete advanced individual training and did not serve, said Lt. Col. Manny Ortiz, an Army spokesman."

I would figure the mall has shit tons of CCTV camera footage that shows what happened. I hope it is released at some point.
