In Asian countries, if you screw up like they did, you either off yourself to save face or they kill you. Here, you get a light sentence and a small fine. But you still keep your pension and all the bonus money owed to you.

California contributes 13.3% to the USA's economy, more then any other state. Texas comes in at 9.5% and NY at 8.1.

If PG&E files for bankruptcy two things will happen. First, the court will allow the company to obtain new financing to run the day to day operations under some type of receivership. So the power stays on. Second, people having claims against the utility will have to assert them or be barred from asserting them in the future. This will limit PG&E exposure to continuing lawsuits from the fires. Also, the utility will no doubt make a filing at the CA PUC to allow any damages from the wildfires, net of insurance, to be recovered in their rates for utility service. The state of CA may also intervene and pass a law making ALL CA taxpayers responsible for the costs. PG&E won't be folding its tent, but its stockholders will lose their investment almost certainly, and management of PG&E is likely to see significant turnover in personnel.

Seems pretty convenient/ how quickly PG and E claimed "responsibility" for "fires" / the location of which is exactly where the new Agenda 21 "transport/train" is proposed. Now our "New Mayor" can swoop in, and grab the land / sticking the bankruptcy (bailout) onto the the Taxpayers. This will prevent further legal risks, and allow governor access to the territory (I read somewhere there might be Gold in Butte County?).

Plus the fact that the feds spend how many billions to divert water to cali.The tech companies are starting to peak and decline in many cases.As a flyover inhabitant ,i also resent paying more for insurance for "disasters" on the coasts.I dont live in a hurricahe ,earth quake,flood or forest fire area.Yet my ins goes up yearly.
