Sedition vs Treason
I'm trying to understand the difference between sedition and treason as defined by law. Is the following correct as defined:

Sedition is an overt subversive act which leads to incitement against status quo or authority or order. It is a challenge to the establishment. It may be a book, a painting, an idea, a speech, pretty much anything that can act as a vehicle of an anti-establishment idea.

Treason, on the other hand, involves colluding with anti-national forces in terms of providing material support to people or groups who work against the idea of one's nation.

So sedition is against a government in power where as treason is violation of one's allegiance to one's country or sovereign. Sedition threatens a government or individuals in power and treason threatens the entire country with all its people.

Which definition would hillary clinton, mccabe, rosenstein, page, strotz, clapper, brennen, baker, and others who knew about the attempted coup fall under? If the spouses also had knowledge of the coup would they also be guilty? If the penalty for treason is execution, what is the penalty for sedition? I'm trying to keep up with events, but it's like trying to drink from a firehose- TIA for any clarification to the question.

Re: Sedition vs Treason
Very simplistic attempt:

Sedition: peacetime, against one's own government

Treason: requires war time setting, must be working with an enemy AT WAR with USA

The FBI Spygate stuff is more likely sedition.

Clintons debatably may be walking more towards treason.

Good way to illustrate the difference, only because it's current news, would be the "yellow vest" protests in France. THAT is an example of sedition. If those same yellow vests, instead of just demonstrating and committing violence against the government changed their tactics to include attempting to overthrow the government, that would be treason.

Sedition is "inciting" others to do your dirty work.

Treason is doing your dirty work yourself.

Seems to me that the msm is doing the dirty work for a small group since the daily talking points are the same for all the networks, pundits, anchors, newsprint, magazines, public radio - all are using the same playbook so all would could be tried for sedition - someone (?) is pushing an agenda - would that be treason?

Personally, I don't believe anything is going to happen with either sedition or treason charges against the bad actors. I'm basing this on the last case of treason/sedition tried in the USA (see below) This information did not make me happy - regardless what Q says, I'm losing faith

The last person convicted of treason was Tomoya Kawakita, a Japanese-American sentenced to death in 1952 for tormenting American prisoners of war during World War II. Even such a clear-cut case created qualms; President Eisenhower commuted Kawakita's sentence to life imprisonment.

Under the Sedition of Act of 1798, it was illegal to criticize the government of the United States under penalty of fines and/or imprisonment.
Thomas Cooper, a lawyer and newspaper editor in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, was indicted, prosecuted, and convicted of violating the Sedition Act after he published a broadside that was sharply critical of President Adams. In part, Cooper was reacting to an article about himself that had appeared in the Reading (Pennsylvania) Advertiser. The case went to court in Philadelphia in April 1800.

Fighting against the governmental authority is sedition.

Attempting to overthrow the government is treason.

I'd say McCabe and Rosenstein and such are in the sedition camp.

The Clintons are in the treason camp.
