MissCleo User ID: 77082640 United States 03/26/2019 04:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Granite is out with the gals. Now they want white 'carrera marble countertops' , but can be easily fooled by quartz, which looks identical but obviously cheaper. Quoting: all knowing alpha 77433535 Cabinet color has also changed from espresso a few years ago, now to white. Used to be white cabinets made you look like a cheapskate designer, but chicks want it all white now. Back splash is also now white, subway tiles. So, if you want to get laid as a single male, rip out those $10k granite countertops, and paint your espresso cabinets white, and don't forget the subway white tiles for the backs splash tile. You're also going to need a sunken white porcelain 'farm' sink, with copper faucets. Good news for those stuck in the 70's who haven't upgraded their appliances is that avocado is now back in style, so keep your green oven and fridge! White is awful. So are subway tiles. I used mother of pearl backsplash, it's awesome. Copper tarnishes too. Those will all go out of style in 3 years and look tacky. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4676552 Lol. Well theyre cheap for sure. They retain stains too, so for that part alone I dont like them. For ease of cleaning I would go for granite, not for the purpose of looking cool. Who cares if you don't look cool. Fuck it. Lol |

There are all kinds of prints these days, and I think you can opt for sealed granite to resist stains...and yes, they do increase the resale value of your home. I definitely agree with that. Years ago, I used to be the kind of chick who would sit around watching HGTV all day. Lol. Thee days I've toned it down, and only watch when I have some free time. |

Why are your countertops relevant in attracting what you define as "babes"? counter tops here in the Baltics are overwhelmingly NOT relevant in attracting women people live frugally here, most out of necessity, but usually even more wealthy people example cars - here in Estonia, for the most part, if your car is running and you maintain it, that is just fine - in USA the driver of a 4 year old 300 class Mercedes gets made fun of by the new 600 class owner - its just sooo silly to 'keep up with the Joneses' the reason I was curious is that on my FB news feed, two USA clams that I knew in the 90s were having an absurd public (is anything private anymore) exchange about BACKSPLASHES for their GRANITE tops , and were trying to ONE UP each other first world problems I guess |

Wondering Mind User ID: 73265267 United States 03/27/2019 01:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I even like laminate walls, they are easily cleaned without the expense of paint that can go as high as $34.00-$40.00 a gallon. I prefer them in the bathroom and kitchen, I rather have it than the heavy weight and upkeep of stone ones. I even like my dinning table laminated over its wood, it is more durable and easily kept up. I like the color combos and wood grained sheets as well as some of the marble and granitite like ones. I have quiet a few rolls of it for walls and horizontals. We keep a stock of them in different patterns and colors. The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds. |

As a result, it has, maybe, a two year life expectancy in my kitchen. As far as the car example goes -- it is the "new money" and "borrowed money" crowd that is into that stuff. Working class people, and people with older money don't give a shit about the Joneses. I have a friend who is a builder in the Dallas area, he told me that the women who buy the Wolf ranges never cook at all. Women who do cook, like me, tend to go for the GE Cafe line -- excellent power, well-made, durable and a good value. The former only want to show off their unused Wolf range to the friends, who also cannot, and will not, cook.
