Yeah many had heard this before the video even. It is a bad kludge to catch up to Airbus that clearly turned out to be disastrous. Sounds like they turned a perfectly wonderful airframe into a total pig.

Although, someone was trying to claim on one of the original threads that they were an insider and the software was remotely configurable PER PLANE and wasn't on any Western planes. I don't know if that guy was larping or if its true. I think they said it was because the pilots in developing nations had enough problems with flying and bad aviation practices that they couldn't be bothered with having to deal with a plane that flew like shit so they needed the help... but that help is almost impossible to turn off in flight if it misbehaves.

Holy crap. This could and SHOULD take boeing down. At the very least a massive lawsuit should occur

Pilots were given a 2 hour ipad course for the new planes. The new software apparently wasn't even covered.

I think Boeing could go bankrupt due to this. They've really screwed the pooch here.

Pilots already compensate for pitch changes due to configuration or power changes, I dont see why the system is necessary. All they had to do was teach them to watch their pitch during power changes.

Hey ....lets all keep in mind the FAA has joint responsibility/culpability here because they have to approve every little rivet and system before they issue an airworthiness certificate to operate.

I guess it's tough to control pitch when full throttling for take off?

Yet, this problem manifested on other flight and the pilots were able to recover.

Another problem with Boeing is their Quality program consists of pretty videos and overpaid executives saying Quality is important. You ask for funds to do quality checks and you hear crickets and that is truth. Now, add cheap India labor and you will want to fly airbus.

A lot of people in executive positions making engineering decisions having no sufficient qualifications, I worked for years as mechanical design engineer and MO is very familiar to me.
