Matthew Shepard's story still haunts Wyoming years after

I forgot all about that.

Don't Forget. The good thing that came out of it was Federal Hate Crime statues with mandatory sentences including no parole.

I recall an update to that story indicating there was a transactional drug relationship between the men.

Personally I'd feel better about humanity if it was drug-related and not due to hate.

Mr. Henderson in court transcripts indicated that Mr. Shepard was intoxicated and that they lured him out of the bar by offering him drugs. There was no drug deal other than Mr. Henderson luring an intoxicated Matthew Shepard out of the bar with an offer of pot.

After being lured out of bar they beat him and tied him to a fence post in sub-freezing weather to die. But while he was tied to the post, they made Matthew engage in oral with both of the men. This according to court transcripts.

Federal Hate Crime is a joke ...

Federal Hate Crime laws are not joke. Just because your a citizen and you have a dislike for someone because of their race, or gender expression does not give you the right to expend pent up hatred against them. You still have to follow the law.

Federal Hate Crimes against Asians are on the rise now.

So your not just talking about gay and transgender citizens your also talking about Asian American citizens now. But like I say we have STRONG Federal Hate Crime laws now with MANDATORY sentencing and no parole.

Apparently some people can’t be decent human beings without a strong enforced law to make them think twice about being cruel.

There was a strong drug nexus in this case, according to Wyoming law enforcement I've spoken to.

But the MSM wanted to paint Wyoming as a gay-free zone and the story was twisted into that.

This is correct. I did time in wyo prison. Everyone there knew Shepard was in sideways drug deal. His mother pushed the hate crime angle so Mathew wouldn't look like a bad egg
