Wait, so:

A house is worth 100k it rises in value to 120k

The owner has to pay taxes on the additional 20k.

The owner sells said house for 120k, they have to pay taxes AGAIN on the same "gain"?

The rule will only be changed to benefit the wealthy if the republicans regain power in 2022 and 2024. It's time for the fat cats to pay their fair share. We've been footing the bill since Reagan.

Only for multiple residences! My dad bought his house in 1975 for 25k, paid it off and now owes $8000 a year in property taxes! That's more than his mortgage ever was! Now he has to consider selling it because it's valued at like 800k. How is that fair?? It's terrible what they are doing to people!

This cannot possibly pass. It will destroy the stock market as everyone will have to sell at the end of the year anything green or risk paying taxes on something that later drops!
