Whats the best breed of dog to have in the upcoming doom, prepper situation?

Nice but chihuahuas are just large rats with cute eyes....

how about other animals, I heard geese or ducks are great watchdogs, so to say. they sure make lots of noise and have a unpleasant bite, they guard you and taste great, lol

I have a black lab. He is a big guy, scary looking but big dumb and full of love.
He is trained as a hunting dog. Rural Canada, anything at this point is a tray of sausage.

I have three, two guard the front of my house and one guards the back. They protect and guide my livestock.

Any suitable breed cross-bred with a Greyhound, so there is a lot of variation in size, speed etc.
Used for Hare/Rabbit Coursing in the UK.

You could just go with a Greyhound but the larger ones do eat a bit. But good dog for post SHTF as they need minimal exercise, fastest couch potato's in the world. They also rarely bark if you want silence.

Anything big loud and smart preferably but remember you have to feed that beast. Smaller dogs offer no protection but eat less and function as an alarm.

A garden cat can improve your success if rodents and birds are an issue.
I suppose the homestead dog has a role too...

Akita's we have two and they are sisters, they work as a team which puts them in a frenzy.
