No one is prepared t admit that the only way out of this mess is protectionism, and the reset button. Government can't borrow it's way out of a lending crisis, without years and years of stagnation or unleashing hyper-inflation. Take your pick!

People on here are seeming less and less interested though. Just another thread I guess.

Perhaps Hippychild that us Brits are in the minority on here, so it appears less people are interested. Perhaps we need to keep it fresh to attract. Did you learn anymore about "common purpose" for example - perhaps you could share your findings with us.

If you can't beat em, join em. Maybe we should try and persuade all those who are dissatisfied with the present batch of 'yes men' politicians to join one of the main parties. Why? Flood them with new members and start forcing change by sheer weight of numbers.

The only problem is to try and wake up the lazy, dumbed down sheeple.

When Jacqui Smith unveiled proposals to track every e-mail, phone call and text message, she might have let herself in for more than she bargained for.

In her blog, Ms Featherstone described the proposals as bonkers and said she was backing the e-mail onslaught because civil liberties is the Lib Dem middle name.
