lol! I have always wondered if one believed in reincarnation if the gender roles would be switched.

I have my own thoughts on the subject, which I'll delve into later in this thread.

It seems it might be difficult for many men to consider that they had incarnated in feminine, physical forms in the past, which I understand to a degree.

I'd like to hear from females who think they may have incarnated in male, physical forms also.

Any thoughts? Hoping to learn something in this thread.

Yes.. before I go into that, I think I'll wait for responses which refute the idea that gender switching through different incarnations is feasible.

Spoke to someone in glp chat who believes in reincarnation, but not in the idea that we may switch genders.. sounds like an interesting avenue to explore

I am not certain about reincarnation even though I have my own past life memory which I can't readily explain! However, assuming that reincarnation occures, I have no problem with gender change as I believe that the soul - our eternal essense, has no particular gender identity. Gender identity being heavily influenced by hormones which would have zero effect on soul!

That's a fair view I think, and though I understand what you have said about our "essence" being gender non-specific, I do believe that our "essence" is either one gender or the other.

Mine is male obviously.. lol

I believe that this is something that this life will not reveal to us and we will be left with only our speculations. While you may believe that our essence is either one or the other, I believe it is an equal blend of both! The determination of which one dominates is made in the physical plane by our physiology and hormones.

Reincarnation is false - why? Imagine that all your relatives and progenitors were still alive but contributed to the gene pool exactly the same. If they had not died but still had babies, would you still be here? The answer is yes because you being here is a matter of procreation only, death is not required or necessary and can be taken out of the equation. That leaves me with two options: 1) No God - this life is "it" for us or 2) we continue as spirits in another sphere.

I understand your perspective and for me the ultimate is the return to perfect balance, however, it raises another issue.........what is ultimate?

Now, this may be getting off track but I happen to believe in eternity. For me to believe in eternity, I have to believe in no beginning and no end as anything else doesn't fit! As such, there can also be no mid point or definable period along the way because in the face of eternity, such just don't make sense. So, in eternity as I see it, there can never be an ultimate for the same reasons already stated. So how do I see eternity unfolding for me? To be honest, I can't even begin to explain it, it is just somehow there in that I can say I know! Ultimately - there's that word again - I see eternity as cycles for ever changing.

Therefore it makes sense to me that throughout eternity, my experience will also continually be changing, gender being only a fleeting indefinable moment in the experience! It's what lays beyond this fleeting moment that excites me.
